Would he be as great without the defenses the Patriots have had? Or as successful?

Yes. You’re using a team stat to put him there.

No I'm not. Have you watched Tom Brady play quarterback?

You probably think losing in the playoffs/CCGs is better than losing in the Super Bowl too.

Yes.

Peyton was better.
Drew is better.

The only thing you can use to put him above those 2 is super bowl wins. Which is a team stat.

Really surprised Troy Aikman couldn't crack the top 25. Wasn't as flashy as many on the list, but he definitely belongs on that list imo.

It's situation specific. We saw Manning's level of play frequently drop in the biggest spots. That matters and I knocked him for it.

Brees is great obviously but if I think about swapping situations I honestly believe New Orleans would have more than 1 Super Bowl with Brady/Peyton & I don't think Belichick/Brees would have 5. I base that on the fact that when i watch Tom Brady I look at a guy making the game look a lot easier than it really is, he's almost a computer back there processing all the variables at lightening speed as they unfold. When I look at Drew Brees I see someone who has unbelievable accuracy with the football but not quite that level of mastery of the position. That's not a knock by the way, Brees obviously is a master of the position.

You have to split hairs when you're talking about the best of the best of all time. You're entitled to your opinion but you should admit you're a bit of a homer when it comes to Brees.

Aikman is the classic hall of very good guy, he's a poor man's Terry Bradshaw.

I don't dispute him being good or one of the best. He definitely wouldn't have as many rings.
