Why is LSU destroying their Greek System?

I don’t understand why LSU is hell bent on ensuring a slow and painful death for their Greek System? A lot of big time donors are Greek and shitting on your own Greek system is going to hurt their out of state enrollment, which is where most of your money is coming from anyway. So they have basically alienated a whole group of Alum, Donors, current and potential students from the school...just doesn’t seem like a very bright move for a school who supposedly has “money problems”

because they recognize how gay it is to buy friends

Who more than likely still care about a fraternity they are bound to for life, some may not but a lot of people take that seriously

I bet you’re 30 and still introduce yourself as a Pike

You’re not buying friends, this is the biggest lie used against Fraternities.
Your dues go towards parties, food, house maintenance and improvement, house staff, etc.

A few people may care about that. The vast majority move on once out in the real world.

Yeah somebody posted this news on a fraternity alumni group the other day. There were a lot of "glad we were in when it was still fun" and reminiscences about various hijinks. Little if any outrage or threats to pull their LSU donations. People move on.

i'm leaning toward this is the most appropriate answer.

They didn’t force a kid to drink to his death, he could have stopped at anytime

You will realize one day that the things you are so worried about around this right now, really don't matter that much.

I don't really know, but obviously there is a good enough reason for this to even be considered.
If they lose a few donors, it's probably worth having to pay any potential lawsuits.
There is a lot of underaged drinking and other possibly illegal behavior that goes on at fraternity parties (including tailgating). That's something LSU can't afford to turn a blind eye to anymore.

I completely agree with you, I think it’s a little strange when older people take that shite seriously but it doesn’t change the fact that a lot of people give money back to their university and Fraternity/Sorority after they are Alumni

I have a friend that was running for public office. He’s been out of school for about 30years. Called his frat brothers, Boom. 15k just showed up. It definitely helps to have a network.

Seems like the dean has it in for them.
