Getting into and out of LSU games due to traffic has become so awful. I really miss the RV tailgating that used to take place near the stadium, but it's all reserved parking spots now. Sometimes it's much simpler to just watch the game from home on the HDTV. If you were advising the LSU AD and/or BOS, how would you change the current system in place regarding game days on campus?

1. You cannot park in any of the "free lots" without tickets to the game. If you want to go tailgate without going to the game, that's fine. But you have to park at Farr park and other obscure areas. The "free parking" is for customers (ie ticket holders) only.

2. Facilitate and encourage public transportation. CATS already does this to some degree, but it is still an inefficient mess. Make the center lane of Highland Rd. "bus only" and roll people through there in addition to bus service to/from the game on River Road/Burbank, etc.

They need to offer more rides on that State Police helicopter that keeps ferrying people into Alex Box. Us regular folk should be able to catch a ride on that taxpayer funded copter!

I'm Curious as to how many cars would be eliminated if no single’s were allowed on game day.

Do NOT let anyone without a ticket park anywhere on LSU property. If those folks wanna come on campus on gameday, they can walk, ride a bus, or bicycle in.

This is where any solution should start.

LOLOLOLOL! You actually expect this to be a problem solving thread?

Call me whatever you want! I couldn't care less! After 28 years of buying 8 season tickets, our family's loyalty and 25 years of tail-gating in the same spot that now has been taken from us for Corporate tail-gating ****s, my solution has been enjoying the game in the comfort of my own home with the same family and friends as before!

LSU has a couple losing seasons in a row will eliminate a lot of traffic. Is that something you want? You are at an event that has 100k-200k people at it. Traffic is gonna suck.

They need designated pickup points on I-12. I-10 and downtown with busses running frequently non-stop.

Charge $5 a ticket, people would pay it not to have to worry about parking on campus.

Couldn't agree more but there is MUCH that could be done to improve traffic flow. But alas! The fricking local police, deputy sheriffs, and state police would rather sit on their arse and do nothing than actually help direct traffic!

Traffic was better 7-8 years ago than it was today and more people attended games/tailgated. Now you have less people attending and worse traffic problems.

Its uncoordinated to the highest degree.

Those people usually leave at game time so aren’t really factored into the post-game traffic.

Used cats this weekend. Was pleasantly surprised. But most of the crowd was gone at the end so leaving wasn’t bad.
