Top 7 teams from AP with team pass rating in parenthesis
1. Alabama(1)
2. Georgia(5)
3. Clemson(21) * - ongoing QB shuffle that seems to probably be resolved now
4. Ohio State(3)
5. LSU(107)
6. Oklahoma(4)
7. Stanford(23)

I stopped at 7 because I think after that there is a pretty big drop off as far as teams that have a serious chance to contend for a conference title (outside of ND who recently made a change at QB and is independent)

ETA: Also of note West Virginia is #12 with a 3-0 record and has a passer rating of #2 overall

ETA Again - This would mean that the teams that are ranked 1-5 in passer rating are all undefeated and currently in the top 12. I don't know if I've seen this correlation so closely related to on field success before.

If this metric doesn't improve (and it was much better against Tech) we will run into some issues when we play Bama/UGA

They have the same or more overall talent and are far out performing us in this metric

Which top 10 teams did each of them play?

Well it's not like they've been playing nothing but slouches

Clemson played TAMU and SC on the road

Bama has played Louisville and TAMU

You can discount it all you want but it seems to be highly correlated to on field success. I thought it was an interesting observation. I'm not saying LSU sucks.

Might be worth noting that TAMU has a pretty stout run defense

It's difficult to tell how good or bad their pass defense is because they've played both Clemson and Bama

Not sure if serious or sarcastic but it obviously means something

As long as that number can trend in the right direction for us we should be good

But if it stays where it is we're not beating BAMA or UGA most likely

Our receivers need corrective eye surgery and better gloves, that's all.

The people that think our poor offensive numbers aren't an issue have their heads stuck in the sand. Relying on defensive takeaways to give you good field position and points isn't a sustainable strategy. Just look at what happened to Miami at the end of last year.

Tua still doesn't have an INT so I doubt we'll get any easy turnovers there

I'm sure there are a bunch of teams with a better passer rating that are 1-3 or 0-4.

Well considering we're 107 no shite

The point is there is a lot of correlation at the top to top teams with us being a complete outlier in this regard

If anything it's very interesting from a statistical point of view especially considering that we've played the toughest competition out of those top teams

I honestly expect it to improve to be honest

These are the first games that Burrow has started with his career and he's with a new team that's implementing a new offense

Hopefully we can start getting some momentum this weekend

They don't want to hear it. It's worked so far, so no point in worrying.

I was kidding. We all hope to see improvement, that’s the point of a lot threads criticizing things even after wins
