Imagine if Matt Flynn was actually named T-Bob Boudreaux, the epitome of a Louisiana kid. He did everything he could, played hard, graduated early, remained a great teammate but lost out on the starting job to a supremely gifted JaMarcus Russell. Next, T-Bob Boudreaux goes and fills the QB void for UCLA. He turns into that vital cog, starts winning games that UCLA probably shouldn't have, gains national recognition and looks poised to take down the evil empire that Pete Carrol has built at SC.

Don't you think there'd be some huge T-Bob Boudreaux fans in Louisiana?

No. I think it’s very cool. We should be happy and proud to have a player who generates such loyalty from his home state and former fan base. Instead we have people who find a way to make that into a negative. To me, that’s the creepy thing.

Local kid, high school legend, many believe should be the starter at Ohio State. I get it. It would be like Leonard Fournette came to LSU as a High School legend. Had to wait three years for his turn behind a Heisman contender. When he is finally given a chance to win the job, another guy wins it. We would all be interested.

Yes

It's also slightly degrading. Would they be rooting for Bama if that's where he went?

Total bullshite.

Total bullshite.

Unless you have never seen a game from Jerryworld. The high school playoff games are much louder than the players and coaches who during pregame warmups celebrate a game winning FG by another team. Were the 20 or so people happy? Of course he is a personal friend of most of them and a former teammate. Do you expect them to be miserable about it?

Would we be obsessing over Miles Brennan if had transferred to another school? Would we be making posters about him in our student section?

LSU fans are a different breed of fans than Ohio State. LSU fans have the "Hate first and foremost" mentality. It is known as "catastrophe syndrome" in the scientific world.

they don't even over-dramatize posts about matters concerning transfers, new or ex players.

OSU fanbase is just weird as hell.

I think a lot more fanbases would have this opinion of the LSU fanbase than OSU's.

This was an interesting thread. Do you only write fiction?

It is weird how many of them have infiltrated the board to discuss him but no big deal.

Whenever our players have transferred I've watched from afar but never joined another fanbase board to discuss them.

Would LSU fans, students and a Zachary community be cheering for Scott succeeding at OHIO St? Yes!

Not really, when you consider the age old law that the backup QB is the most popular player on the team.

If Myles gets his degree from LSU, handles his exit with class, transfers because a player beat him out, AND transfers to an out of conference team....yeah. I'll cheer his success and follow it a bit.

I'd be thrilled if a former LSU QB who wasn't going to see playing time at LSU went elsewhere to help resurrect a sleeping giant. But let's be honest, as LSU fans, we've been conditioned by years of horrible QB play to be very sensitive on the position. It's also been a long time since we've had a Haskins type talent come into the program and command the starting position with little doubt.

OSU fans know they have elite talent at the position, so they can be happy Burrow, who was never going to play, is having success elsewhere. It's been a very long time since LSU has had that talent/security at QB.

Like it's been 3-4 months, calm down.

Would we be obsessing over Miles Brennan if had transferred to another school? Would we be making posters about him in our student section? It's getting bizarre as hell haha.

P.s. I think he's playing very well nothing against him. OSU fanbase is just weird as hel
Never really gave it much thought, but id say they have a classy fanbase

Brennan? We have two LSU QBs who actually transferred. McMillan and Narcisse. Remember them? Or they don’t count?

No, we are Louisianans, we are different.... not better, just different.

Plus he was Mr. Football Ohio, going out of conference.

The better Burrow does for us, the higher the draft pick we have to give up to them.
