Is the "secret playbook" the most ridiculous meme on TD?

It has to be up there.
It is beyond ludicrous that people actually believe that you have to "hold something back" against inferior opponents and then magically change your entire scheme for the big boys.
Great teams run what they run no matter who they are playing. Yes, you don't give away every play. But you run your offense. Alabama, OSU, etc they crush inferior opponents and run their offense.
The very notion that LSU is hiding something is absurd.

Miles had me believing in the “secret playbook” many times in the past. I don’t believe in anything anymore.

we were told everything would be different. but this all seems so terribly familiar.

Agreed. Play calling may not be as aggressive against inferior opponents, but the offense doesn't change. Blocking schemes and routes are generally the same. The reads may be more aggressive for the QB, but the things defenses study don't change from week to week or opponent to opponent.

The Secret Playbook is so secret and so sacred that Les Miles chose to be fired rather than reveal it. He's saving it for when it's absolutely necessary which it has not been thus far. It's about on the same level as the return of Jesus Christ.

Toss up between that a "negatigers", which I think is worse.
I cringe at the mere mention of it...

It exists. Unfortunately, that a-hole Red Beaulieu took it and Mr. Coach Orgeron can't get it back.
Jesus, LSU football might actually be devolving into "the Waterboy" plot

The secret playbook was born out of denial and self preservation during the Miles years. It has just gotten to the point of being a universal truth for LSU fans that you must hide your real scheme.

It's ridiculous that people think it exists.
We ran what we ran last weekend because that's what we got right now. I don't believe O and Ensminger have even figured out 25% of what they want to do on offense nevermind implemented it. Over the spring and summer they claimed they were not only creating a new offense but had different packages for every QB on the roster at the time.
There's no way they could have done all that plus dealt with a new QB who wasn't even here yet plus trained all the backup linemen on it in case of injuries.

While I don't believe in a "secret playbook," I totally think that Ensminger was forced to hold back and call a much more conservative offense because of the OL players he had to work with last week. Didn't realize Tory Carter was also suspended for SELA. That's another blocking body missing, right?

Legend says the exact location's coordinates are scattered throughout campus, possibly in the tunnels beneath or Pistol Pete's old locker in the Parker Coliseum, possibly under a certain brick lining the Long Fieldhouse pool, or possibly still up Joe Alleva's prononced schnoz.
Speculation is we've buried the playbook deep beneath Mike's cage. No one would dare disturb a Tiger den to get a competitive advantage on us. IF and only IF we ever need it, those Rosy Finch Boyz have the resources to extract it while still appeasing PETA and not harming the great beast.
It's all a matter of the right time to unleash it. Obviously 22 losses in the last 6 years isn't quite enough to retrieve it just yet. Biding our time. Soon...maybe...

I couldn't agree more. LSU is running everything the offenses coaches know how to run which leaves much to be desired and very little room for hope for this year.

Still waiting for the secret playbook that Jimbo had, then the one Crowton had, then the one Stud had, then Cam had and now Emsfinger has.

It’s like Mr. Coach Klein’s playbook In the notebook

I agree but O himself said it today.

The Genesis of the secret playbook goes all the way back to the Gary crowton years when he said the playbook was only half open.
