When the last time there has been this much positivity after the first game?

2 years ago after losing to Wisconsin. Everybody was positive that Les Miles was on his way out the door.

We are either the best team in the world or everyone from the university president right on down to the guy who washes jock straps needs to be fired. There is no in between.

It's sunshine or melt, every week

The masses here overreact to almost everything - either positively or negatively.

2011 was the last time we opened with a win over a big opponent so maybe then. 2014 we beat #14 Wisconsin, but it was not a well played game.

Hmm. 2014 win against Wisconsin in Houston? 2011 win against Oregon at Jerry's World? Was at both games. 2011 gets my vote.

2011, but we were much, much more excited then. No one is thinking natty right now, we all were then

For me personally, Oregon. I'm actually starting to believe this team could be just as good.

QB is there, RBs look more than capable, OL will get better but certainly talented, WR talent is there, ST is there, Defense seems it can be just as good...etc.

It’s mostly the idea of a QB that has sparked the runaway positivity.

The negativity is in hiding, waiting with baited breath for the opportunity to resurface!

2011 Oregon.

I guess it’s a Jerry Jones effect type of thing....

I’d say after 2015 Auburn and/or Florida

2011 everyone was through the roof after dismantling Oregon in their prime. We went into that season with lofty expectations though. And amazingly exceeded every one of them by far aside from winning that last game.

2011, but it was justified then.

I lurked this place long before I opened an account, the last time I can remember was after we squeaked by Wisconsin. Before that 2011 but the fan base was a lot more unified then and we were even more dominant against a better opponent

In all fairness, I think we are still exactly where I figured we’d be. Always said there was no reason this team should t win at least 10 games.

Probably Oregon in 2011. We didn’t really look good and had to come back against Wisconsin in Houston.
