Hey.

I am having a bit of a football feast when I am in New Orleans in November. I have the LSU - Alabama game on the Saturday and the Saints - Rams on the Sunday.

I have been to New Orleans before so looking for any football experiences to try on gameday.

Cheers.

Drink. That’s what I do and it’s fun. Champions Square just outside the dome usually has some good entertainment pregame.

Ha, I will certainly have a few drinks.

The walk is about 25 minutes from my hotel so I guess I can just bar hop along the way.

I’d say bar hop along the way, and make time for Champions Square. Also, if you want to be in your seats for the anthem and The Who Dat chant then I’d be in line no later than 11:30 to get in the Dome. Depending on your gate and the motivation of the employees it can take a while to finally get in.

Before Champions Square, the area around the dome was pretty dead. We'd all get hammered elsewhere and stagger into the game...

I'd check out the pregame there.

Champions Square sucks

What level are you looking to get on? Like have a drink or 2? Looking to rage?? Breakfast?? Will you be alone?

What hotel are you at?

Personally, I like Champions Square, for awhile. Albeit, crowded and hot. Drink a few brews, watch the band, then walk in the Dome and cool off. Not a bad time. Circum the Dome and look at the stautues, i.e. Tom Benson, Steve Gleason, et al

Good choice to make since it’s a 3:25 game, plenty time to hit it up before. Late Sunday games usually have an awesome crowd... Have fun...

With a 3:25 game you have time to get up and out the hotel for 9AM and grab a couple Bloody Marys. Then wander the Quarter till about 11am and look for a real lunch or Brunch if that's your thing. This is a website that is about a year or so dated but if you look under CBD, Warehouse District and French Quarter it'll help you find a restaurant serving around noon on a Sunday. LINK /
After lunch have a few more drinks as you meander towards the Dome.

He made some valid points. There are bars nearby that are a lot more fun and a lot cheaper. It’s really lame, crowded, and expensive.

The only pro I can think of for champions square is that it’s next to the stadium. If you say otherwise, you’re a probably a middle aged man who doesnt like walking long distances.

Not a huge fan of Champion Sq. I like it for about 15 minutes while FCDC comes through, then I go inside the Dome and start drinking again.
