My favorite thing to do is get to the dome early. Listen to pre-drunk Bobby for a little while then go check out the Saints HOF at Gate B. Theres normally an ex Saint there signing autographs/taking pics. I like also like to be in my seats early, and watch the team warm up. If I'm with a group of friends we normally hang out at Champion Square and wonder where all the hot arse women come from..... black and gold looks great on a woman.

Don’t piss in the sinks. Even if they look a little like urinals.

Too many choices of places to bar hop to list. Barcadia and Lucy’s will have nice crowds.

Pro-tip... If you find yourself having to take a shite before the game, go to the Hyatt and visit the second floor. Restrooms are nice and clean

Thanks for all the suggestions.

I think I might go to mass at St Louis Cathedral in the morning. I never went in during my first visit to New Orleans. I will say a prayer for a Saints win.

I will find somewhere in the CBD area for a couple of hurricanes and something to eat. I would not mind checking out the Saints HOF. I will check out Champions Square to see
what the fuss is about.

Also, are Saints and LSU tops easy to find around the French Quarter? How much would a top be?

Cheers.

Agree with you Earlee, I am not CSq fan.

But then again, these days, I show up with enough time to get to my seats before kickoff and then go home directly after the game.

Tops? Are you female?

Yes they are probably easy to find but would be WILDLY overpriced in the FQ, just like everything in the FQ to take advantage of tourists that don't know any better. If you're going to pay overpriced stuff might as well just get it from the team store in the dome.

Thinking you are on the right track. You are in the quarter, so after mass, just follow the Saints crowd. Lot of great restaurants serving brunch so no problem for food.

I would order your “tops”on line before you get on the plane. Best quality at Rivals.com & cheap crap at fanatics.com.

The Tiger - Bama game is one of, if not the biggest rivalry in college ball, so be prepared for a very rowdy crowd. Of you walk the big tailgater area, just say, “hi” in your best British accent and you will not have to buy a cocktail & have more food than you can eat.

Pass a good time Cher !

The hurricane most think of is a pre-made thing at Pat O'Briens. It's made with cheap alcohol and mixer but is still pretty good. You might find a bar who has the mixer in the CBD but if you're leaving the Cathedral, go to Pat O'briens basically behind it by a block or so on St. Peter and get one at the side bar with the steins hanging from the ceiling.

No fuss. Don't waste your time, seriously. Find a lunch spot like Luke, Trenasse, Dominica, Borgne or Compere Lapin. Enjoy, then drink more around the CBD. Don't bother with Walk On's, Mothers or Dave and Busters.

Buy a top on Amazon. Nothing but stupid shirts about being drunk will be found in the French Quarter.

Go to one of the breweries like Urban south or NOLA and have a few beers and watch some noon games.

Then head to central city bbq or company burger for lunch. Then walk to the dome.

I am also in the “avoid champion square” crowd.

. Too far from his base on Sunday. Good idea for saturday. Urban South and drink a few Holy Rollers then eat at Commander's or Petit Grocery or Coquette...or vice versa.

Get to New Orleans early and smash some breakfast. Then bar hop a little while making your way to the dome. I’d check out Champions Square and see if it’s your scene. If it’s not then bounce on to the dome.

Lines can be arse sometimes so like others have said get in line at least around 2:40-2:45

I vote against Champion’s Square too. It’s set up like one of those sunbathing reflective devices women hold at their neck to get a tan on their face. Hot as hell even on cool days, overpriced food and beer. You’ll be exposed to that soon enough in the dome.

Mass and FQ bar hopping sounds good. You may look into doing a brunch with unlimited bloodies or mimosas.

As for tops, if you’re not looking for a jersey there’s a t-shirt shop on Royal St. called Dirty Coast. They have a cool line of Saints related t’s. You can look at their stuff online. Just google them.
Have a great time.

Loving all the suggestions. I will bookmark this thread because I will end up forgetting stuff.

I will be staying in New Orleans from the Thursday to the Monday. I will be going to the LSU game on a day trip.

I have looked at the NFLUK shop and a Saints Jersey is £65(about $85). I think I would prefer something like a Saints Polo shirt type. Not sure if they exist.

Mass is at 9 or 11. I am not sure I will be up early enough for 9 so will probably do the 11 O’clock service.

Has anybody been to Levi’s Stadium? I am in San Francisco the week after for 4 nights and not sure it is worth going to a 49ers game. I know it is way out of the way which is what puts me off.

Cheers.

The Black and Gold shop is a local Saints/LSU store. It's not too far from the FQ but you definitely will need transportation. Or order online although shipping to the UK may not be worth it.
