of any game in history, what would it be?

I got asked that question recently and the first game that popped into my head was the re-opening of the Superdome after Katrina against Atlanta.

I was too young to understand the significance of the game at the time but looking back and watching the game, I can't help but get teary eyed. The looks on the peoples faces in the crowd after Gleason blocked the punt, the announcers being dead silent for about a minute, and the Superdome absolutely rocking gets me everytime. New Orleans announced to the world that night that it was back.

I don't think any team in the history of the league would have been able to come into the Superdome that night and beat the Saints.

Did any of you happen to have the chance to go to that game and could explain what it was like in that atmosphere?

I’m sure the most common answer would be 2006 vs Atlanta. A lot of people say it was the loudest the dome has ever been.

I’ll be different and say 09 vs Minnesota. What a crazy game

It was wild. The dome was sold out of beer before the game even started as every seat was full 90 minutes before the game started.

And it was so damn loud. I lost my voice by the end of the first quarter yelling my arse off.

I think Hakim dropped the ball is the first time I ever cried watching a sports game. I was only 13 but damn being in the dome and seeing everyone going...holy frick did we just win a playoff game?

It really hit hard going home and hearing hendersons call of the muff. "There is a God afterall" perfectly sums up how I remember the crowd around me reacting to the play.

same, I was offered a chance to go to the Super Bowl but was torn. I really wanted to be in New Orleans for the celebration and chose to stay. (plus I had already been to a Super Bowl in Miami and hated the logistics of it)

I think I made a decent choice, but damn being there would have been really awesome as well.

The guy in the row directly in front of me looked at his wife with tears rolling down his face and said "this is the greatest day of my life." I'll never forget it. the whole thing was surreal.

You could tell his wife was offended by the comment, but i felt what he was feeling. It was glorious!

That 06 Atlanta game was something special. Probably the only game I’ve been to in my life that I got inside the stadium a good 90 mins before game time. Was more than just football and the Gleason block transcended sports. More so than Hartley’s kick, although that was awesome.

I have been at every important Saints game in New Orleans ( as well as many unimportant ones ) and was at the game in Miami for the Super Bowl. If I had to pick one game in history I could have been at it would be in Tiger Stadium, October 31, 1959. I was one year old at the time.

I was at the 09 Minn game and it was amazing. If I could add another game it would be the Atlanta re-opening.

My name is on the glass wall outside the Superdome honoring the original season ticket holders from 1967 who still have tickets. I turned 9 the week John Gilliam ran that kickoff back and I now own that season ticket account. There have been some thrills, but I have also seen my share of bad football over the years. These are the good old days.

I’m under 30, but have been fortunate enough to go to almost every single home game (and mostly remember them) since I was 4.

Hakim dropped the ball right in front of me (section 136), and I was sharing an earphone with my dad and was able to hear Henderson’s call, it was incredible. Everyone around the seats knew each other and everyone hugged and kissed, strangers alike, it was surreal.

The same situation happened with the NFC championship game, except everyone stayed about an hour after for trophy presentations. It was honestly hard to hear the audio, but was cool.

But out of all of that, the Gleason punt was the legit loudest I have ever heard the dome. And it was a sustained loudness. That’s what stuck with you.

Most home games from that time on prior to Payton’s suspension were that awesome high energy. We lost it for a while, but this past year finally re-kindled what it was like to attend the games during that 06, 09, and 11 run.

I can say without a doubt that the Christmas Eve game vs Atlanta last year was hands down the loudest, most crowd involved game since the 2011 season. It was awesome, and brought me back to all of the above moments.

The NFC championship is hard to top, but I'm sorry I really think I agree with the dome re-opening against ATL.

That was just so electric and probably surreal.

Hakim drops the ball was exciting, but the ATL game was just a whole different level of awesome and what it represented. This was something that brought so many communities together. We gained such a huge fan base here. I know many joke about "bandwagon fans," but I really welcome everyone who started supporting the Saints here. It felt so great winning that game against your biggest rival. It felt more than just winning a football game. I think it gave people hope and something to also look forward to. Idk, I would just love to be apart of that moment more than any other.

That Philly playoff game that same year was pretty special to. I remember who dat chanting around some apartments with random strangers.

if we take out the obvious

NFCCG and 06 Reopening

The next one on the hit list has to be the 2009 skull fricking of the Patriots

A full 60 minute route.
