I'm knee deep in something I hate most and thats buying a new truck...

I can get a GMC Sierra SLT preferred crew 4x4 for 46(TTL) with sticker of 55k

Or I can get a Ford F150 XLT with leather and v8 4x4 FX4 for 45(TTL), sticker 49.

Test drove both today, the Ford seems to drive smaller, while the GMC hood feels like it's a mile long. I really haven't started negotiating with the Ford yet, and the GMC Body style is in it's last year.

I'm leaning towards the Ford b/c there seems to be alot more room in the rear seat. The GMC seems to be the better deal but I'm just concerned about the new body style coming out soon.

What says the OB???

I'm assuming someone had the leather put in the XLT?

I know it's only looks, but I don't like the square wheel wells on the GMC.

I drive a F150 but I've driven most other brands. I would think that you could get a deal on a model year closeout on the GMC if you don't mind it being the previous model a few months later. If you do you can always wait a few months.

I like my F150. It handles like a car and the back seat is huge. No complaints so far. I have a fairly basic 2wd XLT.

I really like my 2016 SLT. But full disclosure I am a GMC guy.

Ford interiors don’t work for me. The layout, the plastic, etc.

GMC’s corner bumper steps are a super nice feature. And the brand is a little more exclusive.

Only thing F150 has that I really want in my truck is the panoramic sunroof.

I always go and read all the forums and see which one is more reliable/l and or having more problems. For what it’s worth I have personally NEVER had good luck with a Chevy product. But know a lot of people who have! Good luck.

I'm an older guy, I like a comfortable, good riding trucks. It's hard to beat an F-150 ford ride comfort, IMO.

You should be getting at least $10k off any new domestic. Especially right before the '19s hit the lot. Keep shopping.

Funny, when I was driving them, I had the same impression. I ended up choosing the F150 and am happy so far. I think the GM has a few more features.

As far as pricing, from your sticker prices, I would guess you would be well under $40 for the Ford and right at $40 for the GM.

Keep shopping those prices and pick what you like.

Base model lariat would have leather, ventilated seats and auto 4x4 shift on the fly knob that’s really nice.

GM gives bigger rebates because they overprice something they can't sell all the inventory before the new year.

Ford sells the shite out of Lariats, so they put leather seats in a XLT. Sell the crap out of them. Thus you get less discount on a good demanded product.

GM really must have kids running that shite show.

THAts no deal on the GMC. I bought a z71 SLT premium with a sticker of $54 in April for $39k new off the lot at Ewing in Plano. Do a little more digging and go to Texas

If you have family or carry a lot of stuff inside your truck, the extra room in the F150 is pretty sweet. The flat load floor is also way more functional than the GMC. One other thing is that the GM doesn't have rear air vents.

I know that's picking nits, but if you're really on the fence little things like that matter.

Brought a f150 lariat ecoboost home today to try.

Wow the 3.5 eco boost has legit take off!

Rear seat has way more room than the Sierra. Rear vents are a huge plus.

The ride is also much better in the f150.

I hate to say it but from initial impressions the f150 is the definite winner.

I've had GM stuff my whole life and currently have my first Ford which is a 2018 f250

My new truck is nice no doubt. Loads of power and plenty of features on a lower trim truck that I appreciate like electronic rear locker and the ability to lock out gears. So far I like it a lot. I guess 10 years from now we'll see what it can do long term. I plan to keep it 20 at least, since all my chevys were that old when I got rid of them.
