Frustrating... but he won.

We're not winning as much now as we were then.

Pelini cost us that game with his pussy zone shite late in the 4th, but Miles was the head coach, so I won't split hairs. It was pitiful. LSU should've finished UNDEFEATED.

Our defense was so inconsistent that year. They were horrible at times. The main thing I remember from this game is how many times we ran a slant in the redzone for the TD. They tried to get away with doing it again for about the 5th time for the 2 pt conversion to tie it and Arkansas was ready for it. Dumbass call

Out of an entire list of frustration, you pick this game?

Yeah that national championship still frustrates me.

Miles had his moments when the game was closer than it should’ve been but he usually was victorious.

It was a shootout and they had one of the best RB corps ever.

Losing to Mississippi State by 30 was much more frustrating for me.

Pre 1/9/12 LSU the games were fun to watch. We had expectations every year that we would be in the mix and every year we were.

Since that shite show in the dome against Alabama, Miles and the team was never the same. The way Miles coached and the way he approached the game was vastly different and it showed. The program was still top tier but had taken a step back and has only regressed further since he's firing.

Hopefully Orgeron can right the ship, but he's yet to give anyone in college football (not just LSU fans) a reason to believe in him.

Oh, you think it was bad losing to a team with Malzahn running the option with two NFL backs, one of which should have won the heisman, in triple OT?

Just wait.

I remember being so discouraged after that game because I just knew our national championship chances were over. Thankfully, I was wrong! :-)

Sometimes is was really frustrating, like 2007 Arkansas. Sometimes it was really exciting, like 2007 Florida.

Yes, Miles could frustrate the hell out of you, but normally came out on top and we were generally in the mix every season. Things felt stable for over a decade with NS and Miles.

Post 1/9/12, Miles wasn’t the same coach and the program began a slide that continues to this point, unless the current team demonstrates great resolve in the face of a tough schedule.

If you are being honest, things have not approached anything close to the stability and success the program had from 2001-2011.

Everybody has an opinion on Ed O and where he takes or fails to take the program. That’s on him and all the O pumping in the world won’t change the measuring stick in evaluating whether or not he gets the job done.

In the greater context, I would take losses like the Arkansas game in realization of where the program stood at that time versus the current uncertainty.

This is what you are thinking about less than 2 weeks before the season starts? A game 11 years ago?

Not nearly as frustrating as Troy and MSU.
What's your next topic, UAB?
Quit trying to deflect from the fact LSU's present coach has little chance of achieving the same success.
Miles and Saban won at a better clip than Ed ever will, deal with it.
