Many people voted for David Duke in the elections he ran in. He was elected to the House of Representatives. I don't think it's unrealistic that a few posters here may agree with his ideology.

It's actually a fascinating story, to be honest.

If the Klan is portrayed at all, it's kind of hard to gloss over the fact that the organization is racist.

Not only myopic but willfully ignorant. Boyz in the Hood was 26 years ago and there have been many since, including Spike Lee if you're willing to watch them, but don't let that get in the way of your tantrum.

The KKK is ancient history. About as relevant as people who believe the earth is flat.

Perhaps the actually organization is ancient history, but the ideology behind it is alive, well, and flourishing as we speak. There is a rally in Charlotte this weekend you might want to check out. You might also want to check out the numerous videos of people harassing and calling the cops on black people for simply living. They might not be calling themselves Klansmen anymore but they are recently emboldened and mad at Spike Lee, Lebron James, the NFL, and whole bunch of other people. Just because you don't feel that way doesn't mean a lot of other people don't. It's not about you.

Why don't you listen to someone defending the white supremacist ideology in their own words. Most white people don't feel this way, but a lot do...and they're vocal and active about it. In a video shot this week:

No its not. The lily white leftists that get pleasure out of entertainment like this are just as racist as the kkk in its heyday

But isn't the movie about the ACTUAL organization and not just some nebulous ideas of racism?

True, people have altered the phrase KKK to just simply mean racist just like they have with the word Nazi.

The Nazis ceased to exist in 1945.

The KKK ceased to have any real political power after the 1920's.

Then it went to isolated mobs in the 1950's.

Then it went to 10 guys in a field on some rural compound shooting guns at beer cans.

A cop would only investigate them if they were selling meth or running guns like a Biker gang or some other criminal activity.

Yeah as Spike Lee is known not to shy away from controversy. At least Denzel Washington's son is going to be big over this movie as he is his own man.

You lovable ignorant frick. You see...we agree on something! I most enjoyed that in your mind those words were framed as an insult. Endearing. Chuck Darwin (not the one from Eufala) would be proud.

You're absolutely fricking right. I'm a half black/half white man and I'm constantly reading posts on here that denigrate women that have had sex with black men (BBC? She's ruined! Hard Pass!). It basically tells me I'm an abomination to them, even though I speak the same language, want many of the same things out life, eat ice cream, what have you.

It definitely triggers me.

Anyway, the Klan is an anachronism by name. The ideology gets upvotes on these boards every. single. day.

You're sick of screeds, films, and tomes about racist white people? Well I'm sick of experiencing racism from white people. I don't feel bad for you at all. If you're not racist, you should be right along side Spike Lee, telling racists to get fricked. You're not racist, so it's not an attack on you...right? Why would you feel attacked if you're not rac-....aw shite I just answered my own question.

Like most things you seem to think you would be wrong. Any race can be racist, and usually are. The black community has just a big of a problem with interracial marriage as the white community, and jewish community, and indian community. Shall I go on...would you listen or believe me?

Holy insecurities batman.

There are tons of daily threads trashing white people on every board.

Also you should probably take the BBC thing as a compliment. That's the OT baws being insecure
