I have to say, though. Reading the reviews has tempered my excitement for the film. Virtually all the reviews are social commentary, not about the film. Ham-fistedly injecting Trump and Charlottesville. . .Just bullshite pandering. Trump is not a racist, nor is he a white supremacist. It is laughable to insinuate otherwise.
Charlottesville should be seen as a sign of progress. The Klan called out to all it's peeps. . .and those were all there were.
The Klan is dead, not dying. It signifies nothing. It is a powerless, insignificant, vestigial group.
Yeah, they were awful. Despicable, even. But they are not important today.

I think you are being a little dramatic. This idea of being somewhat uncomfortable with women of your race dating other races is something that isnt just relegated to whites. It is a hardwired biological response and its unfair to hold whites solely responsible for something thats a universal human trait.
Sorry you are triggered, but how about getting over it and moving on? I think Spike Lee is a highly overrated race baiter who is highly insecure...but im not going to watch his movies and not going to give them much thought.

When are we going to see the movie about the horrors the Black Moores committed against the Italians? Slaughter, rape, pillage, torture, enslavement. So much so, they changed the Sicilian's skin color forever. Northern Italians have blonde hair and blue eyes, southern Italians ----- do not. Can't wait to see Spike's take on this.
When will we see the movie about the black African tribes killing, and capturing other black African tribes? How about the black Africans enslaving their own people and dragging them to the Muslim slave markets.
Are any of these movies in production? We are revisiting all of the Earth's terrible history right?
This is a CONSTANT, non-stop reminder of the terrible past to keep the ignorant masses fired up. Yet, this is AGENDA driven. It is only ANTI-WHITE... There is no balance... and that is obviously done on purpose. Compare our "racial peace" in the late 90s and early 2000s versus today. There was real healing going on, now there is real separation going on. Many place this blame on Trump, but that is ignorant. It takes a long time to change culture. LONG TIME.
Every year, approximately 10,000 or so white women are raped by black men. Every year, LESS THAN 10 black women are raped by white men. I wonder how many people are aware of this fact. It would certainly be great to get the ignorant masses fired up again..... Will this be Universal pictures or maybe Lionsgate? This is akin to black people feeling white people should pay them reparations. So, despite the fact that most white people have no lineage to slave owners..... they should pay reparations. Now, about those 10,0000 white women raped every year... should the offspring of the rapist pay reparations to their families? No, that is crazy right. We can actually prove a DIRECT connection to the crime and bloodline - but no one in their right mind thinks the child of a rapist should pay for the sins of their fathers...... Where are the movies on the horrors of the Chinese building the railroads? Who is aware there were MORE CHINESE slaves in this country? Who is aware there are more BLACK SLAVES in Muslim countries - TODAY - then ever in America???
Speaking of black slaves in Muslim countries-- how many of you know, that the only word for "black human" also means slave? There are 60 Arabic words for slave - and only one word for blacks -- which also means slaves....But white people man.
You see, to me, the greatest difference in cultures is that ----- white people do not mind criticizing other white people. We are not bound by our skin color. (kinda sounds racist that black people are....)
If a white person is trash...... we can call them trash.
If a white person is racist...... we can call them racist.
If a white person is stupid...... we can call them stupid.
However, neither white or black people, can say any of the above statements about black people.
If a white person says anything at all negative about a black person - they will be attacked until their life is ruined --- by both races, white and black.
If a black person says anything at all negative about black people -- they will be attacked ---- ONLY BY BLACK PEOPLE...again --- only by BLACKS.
Normal white people do not associate or protect trailer parks. Why must all black people associate and feel allegiances to actions from the ghetto?
Black people will stick together, and defend other black actions ---- no matter what. But the second a black person says anything negative about black culture...
Honestly, in today's world, those that receive the most racism are black conservatives, and bi-racials. And all of their racism --- COMES FROM BLACKS. Fact.

I just got out and I really enjoyed it. Of all the recent black power movies, this was probably my favorite. Strong performances all around with really complex characters with a strongly built theme

Yea, let's get back to talking about the movie. I went and saw it this weekend and actually really liked it. Honestly, I wouldn't have known it was a spike lee movie. I thought it was going to be filled with "white guilt" that people cry about but I didn't really see it. Pretty funny arse movie as well.
My only complaint (and I'm being serious) is that I wish there was a bit more David Duke in it. I thought they could have shown a bit more of him.
EDITED to add - Also there is a nice shout out to fans of The Wire.
