Wrong, creeping monopolism is one of the biggest problems our country is facing yet it’s rarely discussed bc both parties are now facilitating and benefiting from it.
And the biggest monopolies are the telcos. Conservatives seem totally cool giving them more power.
Anyway, if Alex Jones violated their terms of service they have every right, hell a duty, to drop him. If he didn't then they are in the wrong.
Do we know if he violated their terms of service?

this should be the position of "the right" as well
Nah, not with regard to the ability to criticize entities that used to hold themselves out as being basically open forums for ideas.

No. But if they are going to be judge, jury and executioner of those sites on their platform, they should do the same to all of those types of sites.

You guys all wanted to tell the gheys to get fricked about that cake. This is the flip side. Enjoy, motherfrickers.
It would be like that if bakers had practical monopolies over information dissemination.

absolutely.
For instance, Trump should have his twitter account removed. He hasn't but its clear he has violated their TOS.
Oh, you mean, you want liberals banned from youtube for hate speech. I have no problem if that happened, assuming it was hate speech.

I’m just pointing out to this board who overwhelmingly supports Citizens United and Corporate personhood generally that the right brought about this situation, not the left.
Draconian Sanctions is correct.
Another quote from the same article I linked on page 4:
"Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg said restricting social media access is dangerous because "these people are being cut off from a very large part of the marketplace of ideas. And the First Amendment includes not only the right to speak, but the right to receive information."

That's their prerogative as private companies. As I said with the gay cake bakers, they can do it and it's up to the consumers to push back on them if it's unpopular.
Of course it's entirely political and slanted against conservatism. It's their platforms and they make the rules. There's no requirement for them to fairly or equally apply their TOS. Then it's up to conservatives as a collective to tell Facebook, Twitter and Youtube to shove it up their asses and quit using their platforms.

No, I don't think so and I'm pretty sure you will be hard pressed to see me ever advocating for such. I just don't get the incessant white-knighting I see against any criticism for such actions.

When conservatives start rioting on college campuses to protest speech they find offensive, let me know.
I'll add them then.
