Yes, that is my point, regardless of the fact it was IW.

Come on...The baker isn't one of a few bake shops where you can get a cake. Being banned from two of the biggest platforms to share information is like being banned from 95% of all bake shops. It's not a fair comparison.

I didn't make the comparison. Just stating that his point was wrong.

Private businesses censor citizens all the time. If I got on a racist rant on FB I’m going to get fired.

That doesn't even make any sense. You are championing the silence of those you disagree with. Russia would be proud.

I am laughing at the hypocrisy if anything.

What if you get on a big old bad Antifa rant on FB?

Interesting they did it at the same time? Anti-competitive business practices? Discovery by a good lawyer would be interesting.

The best thing about this thread is that BamaROFL, olddawg and sanctions would be apoplectic if their fake news sites were getting banned from these platforms.

I actually don’t think this is a good thing

I’m just pointing out to this board who overwhelmingly supports Citizens United and Corporate personhood generally that the right brought about this situation, not the left.

How long before these tech giants are declared as monopolies as Microsoft was- and broken up?

They are pretty much a not-so loosely united version of Pravda now, if moves like this become the norm.

Those currently applauding this move would be screaming foul.

Wrong, creeping monopolism is one of the biggest problems our country is facing yet it’s rarely discussed bc both parties are now facilitating and benefiting from it.

He said he has no issue with this because it’s “not the government doing the censoring”.

But I bet he's all for letting anyone into my beer joint because of freedom. If I can't pick and choose my customers running a private business then these internet social shithooks shouldn't be able to either. Same difference.

I'd agree with policy, possibly, but they certainly aren't being consistent.

Who says they have to be consistent?

"Twitter's censorship may be unconstitutional"

Does Milo Yiannopoulos have a constitutional right to tweet?
Most Americans know they can speak their mind in the public square, thanks to the First Amendment. Speech on social media, however, can be censored because private companies own those cyber spaces.
But a recent Supreme Court oral argument suggests Twitter's practice of banning controversial right-wing pundits could be deemed illegal.

It's a private company doing the censoring, not the government, so its ok.

Private companies. They can do this if they want. Many people have implored Alex and others to get together and launch their own platform. Alex knew this day was coming.
