Any speculation as to why?

Did Gates change his mind? Perhaps they were afraid that he wouldn't bolster their case.

It may be hard to prove the bank fraud case.

From what i have read, looks pretty easy. He lied about what the residence was used for, and doctored his income. There appears to be a paper trail for both of these things.

That's piling on which prosecutors tend to do especially in a Grand Jury setting. Did he attempt to defraud a bank, maybe so when you borrow on this level, there tends to be some puffing of assets.....depends on his debt to asset ratio and what can be proven

It was probably purchased at a thrift store and relabeled with a designer label. Rich people don't give AF.

He falsified income, debt and assets to multiple banks. He forged documents to show he had higher income than he did, he forged documents to indicate a loan was paid off when it wasn't, or that a property didn't have a mortgage when it did. There are paper trails on all of this including the infamous - can you covert this to a word doc for me rick? email.

Drama queens. Just wait and watch. He may get convicted, he may not. But your minute by minute drama queen stuff isn’t scoring propaganda points. It will play out soon enough.

does any of this tie into Russia?

I'm just curious where this potential conviction goes in the investigation.

Allegedly. That is what is at issue at trial.

I will say - I have no love for Manafort and will not champion him. So long as he receives a fair trial - that is all that is "owed" him.

Now, I dislike the Mueller probe, etc. But, I certainly think Manafort is greasy enough that I don't want to prop him up.

Agreed.

Lock Manafort up if he's the crook he's accused of being. Or don't if he's not.

Literally has zero to do with Trump's legitimacy regarding the 2016 election.

He's done having to answer questions. When you're on the side of the real illegal stuff and you're given a pass to flip the country off, you can chill.

He's probably screwing Stormy in the Bahamas about now.

Wow. You wouldn't think it would take a decade to get an indictment with all that evidence.

Oh well, the wheels of Justice, yada yada

Seriously....a million person march to the DOJ.

Demanding that this clown show stop and the real criminals (and we now who they are) be indicted and convicted.

Curious if any of the banks faced any losses as a result of this alleged malfeasance.
