Dip Trio is the best thing on that menu. Margaritas are good. Like they said, keep it simple.

VC gets alot of hate on here but I think it's one of the best Tex Mex joints in the city.

I said hello to Tom Hanks last time I was there, so that was cool.
Dip Trio is good. Quesadillas are solid. I always get excited for their tacos but they are usually bland or cold. Their nachos could feed an army. Sides are good. Tex Mex egg rolls are also really good.

I wouldn't say best, but it's good enough. Every Mexican restaurant in La gets shite on non-stop, which I get, but VC isn't that horrible.
When you are comparing to the likes of Carrettas, El Paso, Superior, and 90% of your grease and cheese heat and serve places in the area, it's not bad.

I say this with all due respect, and you can't get mad because I prefaced it that way: You're out of your damn mind.
The hate is deserved. Its a beautiful space, a beautiful setup. A great bar. Great location. AWFUL food. Just microwaved crap. I found a band-aid in my food there once, and my wife went there a week later with friends...same thing.
If you must eat there, keep it as simple as possible. I would go get Tacos at Catty Shack instead and then drink at VC and take in all of the...sights. But if thats not possible you'll be fine. You aren't going to die or anything, presumably.

Can say, VC doesn't make "bad" food but when I can get the same thing at one of the lesser Tex-Mex joints for 3-5 dollars cheaper it makes me not want to go. Especially when the quality is the same imo.
