I have two:
My paternal great-grandfather, many times, who was a French Viscount that introduced Napoleon to Josephine.

and, ironically,

My maternal grandmother, many times, who was Josephine's best friend.

How cool would it be to tell them that 200 years later, their blood lines cross.

My Grandpa's Grandpa was a spy and horse thief in the civil war. Rode with Forrest, supposedly.

Father-in-law. My wife's father died 11 years before we met.

He'd probably be either a General Officer or retired Colonel if he were still alive today.

If I could go back in time to the 1950's I would love to meet my great grandmother on my father's side. She owned what is now half the city of Madison, AL, and sold it all to the city in the 1950's for next to nothing.

Come the 1970's into the 80's that land would have been worth an ungodly sum of money!!!

My Mom's Dad. He died when Mom was 13. Was a self made hard working dude that brought electric to their hood in the 1920's.

My great grandfather on my fathers side was a palace guard to first German Emperor, Wilhelm I. I have only seen one photo of him and he doesn’t look like the type to mess with.

A silver dollar in his pocket deflected the bullet.

Sounds like he was almost shot in the leg, not necessarily killed.
Not to mention that’s the most bullshite story I’ve ever heard

I knew him, but he died of cancer when I was 12. I wish I had more time with my Mom's Dad. He was a man's man. Joined the Navy when he was 17 during WWII. Came back from the war and worked as a train engineer. He built an addition onto his house and was a helluva craftsman.

My grandfather, my Dad’s Dad, died when I was about 14, he was a big story teller but I didn’t appreciate his tales then. He was a Cherokee and there is so much I would love to ask him. He had a very interesting life, he and his brother ran away from home after his mother died when he was about 10. They hopped a train and went to Arkansas where they had relatives, got a job with a logging company, his job was to harness the horses, needed a chair to put the collar on.
