Eric Church decides to take on the NRA

Seemingly from out of nowhere, this:
Bold move for a country singer
quote:
Eric Church, who was one of the headlining acts at the Route 91 Festival in Las Vegas, said the NRA is to blame for the mass shooting that occurred in October 2017. A crazed gunman opened fire at the crowd of festivalgoers while Church's fellow country star Jason Aldean was performing, taking the lives of at least 59 people. It was the deadliest mass shooting in modern U.S. history.
Church, who said he considers himself a "Second Amendment guy," blamed the NRA and gun lobbyists for being a "roadblock" to gun safety in a new interview. "There are some things we can't stop," Church told Rolling Stone. "Like the disgruntled kid who takes his dad's shotgun and walks into a high school. But we could have stopped the guy in Vegas." But he added, "I blame the lobbyists. And the biggest in the gun world is the NRA." The "Desperate Man" singer said the NRA has "been a bit of a roadblock."

how would NRA reform or bannign lobbyists or whatever prevent a crazed person from doing what he did?

Why do these musicians and actors continue to potentially alienate their fans and customers? I just don't understand it.

As was said with the Dixie Chicks, “who woulda thought country singers offending the NASCAR crowd wound hurt their career”.
No entity is infallible, but screw him. He’s dead to me now.

Church is count and I'm pretty sure his "fans" will let him know how stupid he is.

What a frickin moron. The NRA is not to blame for the Vegas shooting.

I think Church is wrong about this issue, but it doesn't mean I'll stop listening to him. Doing that is just as bad as musicians saying they don't want Trump supporters (or whoever) as fans.

Read the rest of the article. Church said he voted for Obama and would’ve strongly considered voting for Bernie. He’s a big liberal like most of his idols (Willie, Merle, Springsteen, etc.)
quote:
Church didn’t vote for Trump in 2016. In fact, he didn’t vote for anyone. He voted for Bush in 2004 and Obama in 2008. He didn’t vote in 2012, but says President Obama didn’t do anything to lose him. (“I met him once,” he says. “Found him nothing but great.”)
quote:
He says he gets most of his news online, from CNN, The New York Times and The Washington Post.
quote:
“Some of this stuff you look at and go, ‘What the frick? Why is this hard?’?” an exasperated Church says. “Why can we not get infrastructure done? Why don’t we do more clean energy? Why are [prescription] drugs so expensive? Because it’s a lobbyist-based system. It’s a money-based system. Either way, we’re fricked.” I ask, half-kidding, if he was a Bernie guy. To my surprise, Church lights up. “I love Bernie,” he says. “Bernie had a great message. It’s funny: If it had been Bernie versus Trump, I don’t know what I would’ve done. I would’ve at least thought about it more than I did.”

Eric Church has emotions. Now he will, for Better or worse, find out about the emotions of his audience.

The real vagina shaped cupcakes in these situations are the one who get offended when someone's opinions don't fall in line with theirs.
