Best use of a song in a movie

One of my favorite uses of a song in a movie is Partyman by Prince in 89 Batman for a few reasons.
1) It’s a damn good song
2) The opening: Gentlemen, let’s broaden our minds. Law-RENCE
3) The song is about a guy calling himself the party man and The Joker is calling himself the party man while he is committing mass murder. Perfect testament to how psychotic The Joker is as a character.
Your thoughts?
Some other good examples?

The Jaws score was a character in and of itself.
For songs with lyrics, too many to name just one. However, when Jenny was drugged out and on the hotel rail, thinking of leaping, and Free Bird was in full force...well...it worked for me.

Lost in Translation
Just Like Honey - Jesus amd Mary Chain
A great scene at the end of the movie and the song fits it perfectly...
Goodfellas
Then He Kissed Me - The Crystals
An incredible, single shot scene... with a great song that captures it to a T

Agreed.
Runner up would be Pixies - Where is My Mind in Fight Club.

Goodfellas has Layla too. A lot of contenders in that one movie.
The most iconic themes will always be Jaws, Star Wars and Raiders of the Lost Ark/Indiana Jones for me. I like others, but those are the three that encapsulate the movie.
The Doors over the opening of Apocalypse Now is great, and I'm not a big Doors fan.
On the less serious notes, Get Back in Tropic Thunder and either Hearts on Fire or No Easy Way Out from Rocky IV.

Not really songs. Scores. On that line I will add The Natural, Braveheart and Last of the Mohicans.
For songs, the movies about the Viet Nam era and the use of the “protest” songs are universally the best to me.
