This with Hammond 2nd.

All the other towns have other things that drive them IMO.

Hammond has my vote.

Lafayette comes in dead last.

I don't know a single tech grad who didn't love Ruston... I think this is the answer

I am an LSU grad but I went to football camp in Natchitoches and always thought it was quaint and somewhat appealing. Am I tragically wrong ?

Thibodaux because of it's proximity to NOLA.

But town itself has to be Laffy. Lots of good places to eat, decent entertainment options, and plenty of bars. They actually get behind their university too. Big plus, even if none of the stooges know what the actual name of the school is.

Ruston is nicer but things don't revolve around the college the way they do in Natchitoches. If NSU closed, Natchitoches would dry up and blow away. Without Tech, Ruston would still be there.

Every year thousands upon thousands travel to Natchitoches for the Christmas fest/firework show. What does Ruston have that’s equal? Not saying Ruston isn’t nice but your statement is just a little off..

I guess.. If we’re talking strictly proximity, Hammond wins by a mile. Easy access to the coast beaches, Less than an hour from Nola and BR. If you’re going to BR for most game days, Lafayette or Hammond is the place you want to be. But then again, if proximity to a better place is your main selling point, the town itself probably blows

I really don't think they did. My wife graduated from LC in Pineville. All of her fondest college stories end with a chuckle and...well...eh we made the best of things I guess.

What’s so bad about Lafayette? The downtown strip is just as good if not better than anything in the state for college kids, crime is super low there, it’s less than an hour from LSU for game days, the town itself has everything you’d need.

What’s the problem here?

If you think Jefferson St in Lafayette is bad about MIPs, you’re not very familiar with Tigerland.

It’s not a “college town”. College town=/=has a shitty downtown scene that college kids can go to

it’s less than an hour from LSU for game day
so you’d leave a college town to go to another college’s events?

Yes if it’s LSU? Who would rather be tailgating at Cajun field over Tiger Stadium? You get to experience the real game day and then go home to your clean, safer town. Simple
