PODS storage question

I’m looking at using a POD for an upcoming move, and I will need to store it offsite for a couple of months. Not having much luck online finding out if any Louisiana storage centers offer climate controlled storage. Do any of you have any prior experience with PODS around BR/NO and know if climate controlled is available?

Baton Rouge used to have a climate controlled center up by The Real Superstore. Not sure about NOLA, but Im sure they do because NOLA>BR

Avoid PODS at all costs. I just used them for a move and deeply regret it. First, they didn’t pick up my POD when they agreed to, and then continued to deny picking it up for a week after it disappeared. They found it all of a sudden as soon as I told them I was filing a police report. Second, they offered me $75 to sign away all rights to complain, write a bad review, or post anything online. This was $75 after I paid $2k for everything. Finally, they were weeks late on their guaranteed delivery date. Read reviews on BBB.

I should refer you to my trash bag neighbors who have had one in their driveway since the beginning of the year.

My brother in law had a very bad experience a few years ago. Got lost in transit and was delivered 2-3 weeks after it was supposed to. The roof of the pod leaked and many of the items inside were completely ruined.

We used a pod about 2 summers ago. We didn’t ask, but I don’t recall being climate control.

Don't think they have climate control.
Their tracking of the units is bad. I had 2 pods that I stored myself at a buddies yard. When I called to have them moved to the final destination they didn't have any record of me having them. Finally got it resolved.

Is it "a POD" (portable on demand) or "a PODS" (portable on demand storage). Everything I ever learned about grammar hates this

The one in harrahan doesn’t get above 85 or below 65 or something like that. Currently have a pod sitting there now.

I don’t know anybody who has had a experience with them

I don't believe in storing things in general. Never looked into a pod but I came home the other day and my 80 year old neighbor had one in her driveway. Apparently she is moving. Can't wait to tell her about this thread. Her shite's going to get lost.

I used them and they were great.
However I stored mine at my father in laws where we lived until the remodel finished. So they just moved it for me twice and I was with it the whole time.

Maybe they need it? If you're remodeling part of your home but need access to your things, it's a good way to go.

Were you still being charged while they had no record of you having them?

Looks like it will be mini storage for me. I like the convenience of a POD where I only have to load/unload once, but the lack of climate control and these horror stories make it a no go for me.
