Jimbo gave up and lost his team last season. Hopefully everything will go perfect for him with the Aggies.

And he still left for 75 million fully guaranteed...there's simply no way we ever would have came close to that, even after his better season the year before
It wouldn’t have cost LSU 75.

The deal was done. It was 5 years 35 mil. Alleva couldn’t keep his goddamn Dept under control and let the media dictate the story.

You know Georgia fired Richt for the same record as Les that year?

No one gave a shite because Georgia’s AD controlled the narrative. Joe did not.

Another sign of a weak, ballsless joke of an AD.

Lol, these people always make me laugh. Like it was your money or something. LSU could make up the 75 million for his contract, with extra profits with one championship team.

I find it VERY hard to believe we could find enough donors willing to pony up the potential gigantic buyout if it were to come to that. aTm is different in they have very gracious and loud football (oil) donors, they were willing to foot the bill (if it comes to that).

5-10 million buyout is a helluva lot different than 40-50.

Bottom line no way we'd be willing to give more than 5-6 year type contract up front (especially if fully guaranteed).

think it was much easier for him to leave FSU after a losing season than the season we pursued him.

This is what gets overlooked.

Once things blew up in 15, Jimbo was just as finished in Tallahassee as Miles was in BR.

In both situations, the damage was irreversible imo. Miles knew he was a dead man walking, and Jimbo got caught in bed, so to speak, with another school.

Both situations were absolutely irreparable at that point and clearly had an impact on both teams throughout the offseason and as the season played out.

Both LSU and FSU can thank Clueless Joe for their current situations and I have a feeling Jimbo is going to have the LSU game circled every fricking year just like Saban always has.

It didn't work out because Sexton asked for the moon and A&M gave it to him, LSU was not paying that salary when Sexton kept coming back for more and more to get a sitting head coach with a national title on his resume.

We will see if 10 years at that salary is sustainable not only for A&M but for college football as a whole.

Could? Perhaps. Let's see if and when Jimbo brings that championship to aTm. O was not my choice-- but just bc it's not "your" money, doesn't mean you need to be stupid with it.

considering the buyouts LSU officials have given Miles and Orgeron I would have had no problem with the Jimbo investment.

We weren't getting Jimbo in 2016, but we had him in 2015. He was ours. Deal was agreed to.

And then F King thought it would look bad because of university budget issues.

Despite the fact the athletic department is self-sustaining and takes nothing from the fricking budget.

Goddamnit I'm still mad.

Jimbo or not, Miles' buyout would still be in place. I was not a huge Jimbo fan in latter part of his OC tenure in BR, so I am not crying over fact he is not here.

which was alleva's biggest sin. the moment miles tried to bluff with the arkansas offer alleva should have dared him to walk.

Some may disagree with his biggest sin. It was time for Miles to go, but his resume (overall) beats our current coach and Jimbo. We will see if and how long that holds true.

Well we had him for a lot less after 2015 and Miles was carried off the field, but Alleva and JBE decided it would look bad.
