Round 11 done
Cold, wet and windy isn’t exactly fun right now. But I moved pretty well on that run.
I can taste the finish.
But first, I’m going to drink an entire pot of coffee.

You got this bro.
I’m about to run 8. My goal is to try and keep my pace around 8:30 the whole run. Pretty much read the entire Pfitzinger marathon book last night.

Better bring a roll of TP with you.

Rode the bike for first time in at least 2 years today. 14 miles just to shake things out. Ready for this calf to heal up.

A slow eight at 8:44/mile pace. I kept my pace right at where I wanted for the first four miles. The last four were a different story. Muggy and no wind here. Probably sweated a gallon.
My goal for next week is to pace all my miles at 8:40. This Pfitzinger book taught me the importance of not always running as fast as I can or below race pace.
Guess I’ll go drink a bunch of white cans and play golf?

Round 12 Done!
I was determined to not walk this last round and while there was some slow shuffling in some spots, I finished without walking.
Thank God that is over.
Now I’m going to eat an entire family pack from Torchys on my own.

If I never run a virtual race for the rest of my life after this, I'll be happy.

Word.
BTW
Good job S-mon! I won't be trying the 4-4-48 anytime soon.
Off topic-ish. I've been trying to get a semi professional opinion of my ceiling as a runner. Also trying to get a feel for what I need in a coach. I think I want to get real serious about the marathon.
I even started a thread on "letsrun", asked local coaches/runners. Nobody will tell me shite. I'm frustrated. I'm still advancing pretty fast on my own, but those days are numbered. Having a hell of a time vetting a local coach because it seems no local coach seems interested.

A) Any interest in contacting the one that I had used?
B) Does it need to be local?

I'm pretty sure your coach follows me on Strava and isn't interested, but could be me projecting.
I'd prefer it to be local but with skype and zoom, it really doesn't need to be.
You only have my old work cell I bet. I can text you if you want to take it off the board.

I have 0 experience with running coaches, but I frequent the Believe in the Run pages and am a Patreon member and I believe David Ames just began writing reviews for them. He is a coach first and foremost, based out of LA, but the founder/owner of BITR used him with good results. May be worth looking into if they don’t need to be local to you.

Just checked out his website. I check all the boxes for his Elite Team requirements but the website doesn't look like it's been updated since 2019.

He’s very active on Facebook if you have one. He’d likely respond quickly if you wanted to pick his brain.

Yeah, I emailed him and he responded almost immediately. Pretty cool. I need to contact HB's guy now. I hope Hogbody doesn't mind me saying, but he was coached by a fricking legend.
I'm curious if I can make Dave's elite team. Man, now I'm spoiled for choice! You guy's are amazing!

Awesome! Hope it works out either way you go. Dave seems like a good coach and good guy, I know he’s not a fan of tech or relying on Strava type data so that’s kind of cool. Good luck man! ![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/Icons/Iconcheers.gif)
