I haven't posted in here in a while. Burt, nice race man. The time was impressive. May be more impressed you were able to push it until the wheels fell off on a solo run. Based on your Strava times, I've been thinking you'd go for sub-2:30 in the fall. Seems very doable

I'm pretty much back at it after some kind of injury earlier this year. Had some hip issues - i was worried i had torn something but ortho said i probably strained a hip flexor. Cut way back for a few weeks and slowly cranked up again. Feeling mostly good now.

Hope everybody's running in the age of tCoronavirus is going well. It's not a bad time to be a runner. So good that everybody wants in right now

ETA: oh yeah, CM on Strava

3 at 8:40. Slow. Sluggish. Felt like a pack mule carrying yesterday’s crawfish and beer. I owed 6. I’ll make it up somewhere this month.

AS, NYC runner.

Good news, doc just called with MRI results and said nothing of note. No fracture or bone problems. He said to rest until the pain is gone, probably in a week or two, and then play touch and go from there. Ease back into it. So hopefully I'll be back at some shorter distance runs here by the middle of the month

Bit the bullet and did the CCC virtual this am. Finished in 42:10. Started out too fast, but ended up about where I wanted to be, around 42:30. About 50 seconds off my PR, but I’ll take it considering my past 7 months health wise, being a virtual race and not following any kind of structured plan. Glad it’s over!

Nice one, brah. Y'all might be inspiring to look into one of these virtual races this spring.

Thanks, fellas. Definitely the most pain cavey "race" I've ever done. My fitness just isn't there at this point - lacking consistent sleep, consistent training, diet is slipping at times, drinking more than normal, COVID stress, etc...

Nice. I'm going to have to do one of those to salvage the spring season. I was supposed to run the Cincinnati Flying Pig Marathon in early May; now that that's off the table, I guess it'll be another couple months of base building.

Are you running the rescheduled event in October? Flying pig is on my bucket list. Always heard great things.

I've heard great things as well. I'm not sure whether I'll run the rescheduled event; I was hoping to run St. Jude in December. Now that Flying Pig is taking place in October, I think I'll have to choose between them.

Weird day.

Got 2 runs in. Didn’t feel great for either of them.

Oh well, 8 miles done.

I could tell that it's been months since I did any real speed work. I had 6 X 200m hill repeats planned but entered .25 miles in my watch.

I got to close to the top of the hill on the first interval and thought my watch must be messed up, because I know I had long passed the 200m mark. I ended up having to manually end the first interval. Then, I realized that I had entered .25 mile instead of .13. I ended up doing 4 X 400 instead.

It was still a nice little early cycle workout.

Having some lower back discomfort today. I think it’s due to my new working arrangements and sitting on a rigid wooden chair for 8 hours rather than my awesome work chair. Hope this doesn’t slow me down too much.

I’m making an effort to make my last two miles today faster than my middle two (I’m running six). I wanna see if this helps me get faster and stronger.

it won't but, assuming i'm healed up, i'll run it virtually with you

That'd be a mighty fine frick you. We're keeping your 300 dollars but you can run it virtually!

If it comes to that, I'm going to put a crew together and see if I can't get a breakin 2 style jam together with some of the running folks I know.

Haha they’ll give us all admission to next year. I’m saying I’ll just run 26.2 and you can give me an hour head start and catch up to me by the last mile
