I love running, but my motivation has been down this week. Still getting in miles to avoid weight gain during quarantine, but really missing not having a race on the calendar to train for. I have a trail race set for June, but realistically no way I see it happening. I plan to race my arse off in 2021.

Yup, basically every race through summer is cancelled or delayed. Still a good opportunity to train and meet some personal goals. I don't think anyone should plan on racing anything other virtually for the rest of the year.
I'll probably do a simulation or virtual race in 5-6 weeks and another in 10 weeks then. I don;t race very often anyhow, so this won't bother me too much. I mainly just want to get faster before I go for a BQ.

I wonder how many people would be legit truthful in their time reporting. I do think you'd get more bites with a 5K though.
I'm thinking IF we are able to secure any type of prize or whatever, the only way to qualify would be to post a pic of your watch or screenshot your phone
if someone is pathetic enough to cheat with that, then so be it
I'll start a thread sometime tomorrow when I get a chance

No run this morning due to rain. I planned for it though. 6 miles tomorrow and 6 miles Sunday will wrap a solid second week of base building for me.

Guess I’ll need to do the virtual Crescent City Classic 10K sometime in the next week, if I want to get a Top 500 poster. Deadline is a week from today. Sub 45:00 should do it and shouldn’t be a problem. Ran one in 43:00 a couple months ago and 41:20 in last year’s race.
It’s just getting the motivation to actually set aside a morning to do it. I think/know this Corona shite is subconsciously affecting me. Spending way too many nights drinking an IPA or 2. Really hard for me to find motivation for a virtual; as I’m sure y’all all agree that the race day morning rush is unbeatable.

6 at 8:34 per. 60F at start. Almost physically ran into Brett Ffffaavvvvra. If it was him, he and a bunch of other folks on bikes were blocking the trail shooting the shite.
Yeah-beyond the fact that flu screwed up my training, I deferred my half today instead of doing the virtual. If we get a virtual together on here I’ll do it. Otherwise, race day wins out.

Today was a nice, slow 10k at a 9:17 pace. It's maybe 50 degrees and a little damp from the rain last night. Everything felt good and I'm on track to hit 25 miles for the week.
I didn't take the deferment for the big 10 miler in May so I gotta stay in shape and just virtual it.

Dang man. 6 at 8:34 is good!
I’m on Strava now. Y’all can see my ish. LFG. Anyways, 8 miles in 1:09:35 (8:42 pace).

Favre ran the miss gulf coast marathon last year, so very well could have been him. Dude seems to still be a fitness nut.

I passed by him as he was coming up the I-10 ramp and I was about to start down it. I thought to myself, “Just stay in front of Brett. He’s a professional athlete. You can brag about this later on.”

Thanks-I finally feel like I’m getting some stamina back. Mile 6 was 8:02.
Not too shabby on your run today, too.

Good idea Roots for a Strava check with all the new runners --> RS for me
I'm considering the "Texas 10" series ..it's a 10 mile race series that will fall in line with my March marathon plan.
It would be cool to do versus the pace runs by myself and hopefully push me a bit while staying within my weekly miles.
