My hip problem isn't going away. I went to the doctor and it was worthless...
I don't want to be that guy that looks at google for 10 min and diagnosis himself, but I am fairly confident I know whats going on with my hip. I believe I have a hip bursitis and my doctor didn't even bring it up as a possibility.
I want to call them up, tell them I think I know whats going on, and that I want the injection to help it. But I'm pretty sure they hate people like that ... Am I wrong?

You’re not wrong
You could ask for like an ortho referral...or see someone else?

I would recommend an appointment With an orthopedist if you didn’t see one. They would be the one to perform an injection if warranted.

Weather was a perfect 60 degrees with no wind.
I agree. No weather complaints today. Got in a mid day 5 with miles 2&4 at 5K pace (6:32, 6:33) and 1,3,5 easy.
Wanted to see how I would handle the miles at pace, although I'll need to be a bit quicker to break 20. Didn't feel too bad, but won't be easy obviously. I'm not totally sure how realistic 20 is, but we'll see.

Felt slightly sick the last couple days so skipped run today
Probably could have fought through a run but I haven’t had a day off in 2 months so figured my body could use it

Decided to not listen to the doctor's advice and did an easy 5 yesterday. Weather was just too nice not to do something.
Do even of you run with glasses or contacts?
These might be dumb questions, but do they make special contacts for more active people? Do you where different glasses for physical activities?
It appears that glasses or contacts are now in my future, and I have zero experience with any of this, so I apologize for the dumb questions.

I am nearsighted and wear glasses so I can see objects at a distance. I usually run without my glasses unless it’s sunny then I run with sunglasses, which are prescription. Why I do this I’m not exactly sure.
I don’t have any experience with contacts so can’t comment on that.

I agree. That's a dumb question.
Been wearing contacts for 19 years. 99.5% of my runs during that time were with said contacts. I just don't like wearing my glasses to run in. Or in general for that matter.
How's the eye?

The same, as far as vision.
I have an appt this evening, which I'm pretty much expecting them to tell me I'm going to need glasses/contacts.
So just kinda preparing myself.

I initially read this as "attractive people".
I got lasik several years back, so now I just judge and ridicule people with bad vision. But I would be interested in knowing what brand of sunglasses you people with superior vision run in. I have a narrow face and head, and have never yet to find a pair of active sunglasses that don't slide or bounce.

I run in Goodr glasses. Pretty cheap and hold well to my face.
I have issues with the lens popping out, but I don't really mind because they are cheap.

I saw an orthopedist. Its not really painful, just uncomfortable. I think thats why he didn't really take me seriously.

If it's just uncomfortable, I would probably just stick with 3 Motrin 3 times a day for at least a week and reassess. Let it rest. You can do some light stretching. But if it's bursitis, you gotta let it rest and let the inflammation settle down. There's risks involved in those injections, so unless you absolutely need it, I would try conservative treatment before the injection.
Where's the pain in the hip?

Same. And at $25/pair, pretty cheap.

On the outside. Basically right outside the bone. If I don't take NSAIDs I will get this uncomfortable pop when I walk.

I may be wrong, but I don't see where any of the gels really sets themselves apart from the others based on a nutritional standard
I been quiet in here, been getting some runs in here and there but mostly 5k-10k stuff. Next race is a 10k so feel like I have been slacking, need to ramp back up for good
A lot of runners around here have been on the spring energy gels, supposedly all natural so the nutrition is better. Looks to be about half the price of Maurten, thought y'all may be interested. (I have never tried either of them, only Gu and SIS) I will order some spring before my next longer race, I just don't use them much for training. I do know some of the spring are way more calories than just your standard 100 cal gel (Speednut is like 235 cals)

Not dumb, as I've aged my vision is slowly going. I'm curious as well.
Ran 8.5 easy yesterday.
a little leg work today.

Getting hot in TX yet? This morning was my first shirtless run of the year. Can't wait to hear all of the usual AnarexNick jokes from my neighbor buddies.

Speaking of gels, I couldn't help myself. I ordered a 6-pack of the new GU Hoppy Trails gels. It comes with a stainless steel pint glass, so worst case I have 6 terrible tasting GUs and something to drink beer from for $15.

Best case is it's greater trochanteric bursitis, and if you rest it and hit the Motrin for a week, it should let up.
