Just saw that.
I ran damn fast trails today and my mates smoked me. There were only 4 of us today and it was 3 of the 4 fastest and me so we booked it.
HR strap was a bit irritating but I liked the data and am interested in studying it.

That's awesome! Lot of PRs gonna fall this spring. Did you suprise yourself or did you know that you were dialed in for about that time?

Hell yeah dude!
I ran an easy 5 this morning. Freaking perfect weather. I love this time of year.
I signed up for another 5k next Friday since I didn’t get to run the other last weekend.

BNG had a good run this morning think he had a half marathon PR on a training run.
Hey BNG! Wheres that elevation? I thought Mandeville was like the Swiss Alps of LA based on that other cat in the group consistently getting 2000ft of elevation in one run.
Seriously though looks like TR, you, and 3N are kicking some arse this morning.
Also @ HogBody You picked the perfect week to get sick. How about the 25mph wind with 35-45mph gusts all this week?

Honestly I didn’t know what to expect. I went out fast and figured fuc it, either break 20 or crash and burn. Seriously think I’ve been leaving a good bit on the table. Could have broke 19:00 I’m pretty sure. Pretty cool jacket from Brooks for top 10.

That's super awesome! I wish there would be a gear sponsored race that comes through here.
Bummer you feel like you left something out there. Looks like you were kind of in no man's land and that won't do your times any favors. I know what that's like, because of my level of fitness right now, I end up in no man's land every race around here. We need training racing partners.

That is true that wind has been unreal
Looks like I won’t be running today and probably not tomorrow either...this sucks hard
I’m gonna end up with 4 miles this week FML

Yeah I passed a dude at 2.75 that I’d been reeling in and then it was like OK, what now? And there was an overpass right before the finish, so that didn’t help but was a welcome sign being that it was basically at the end.

I really have no idea where that guy's elevation data is coming from. The area I run in has two elevations... low and slightly lower.
I couldnt agree more with your previous rant about the pseudoscience of running. When I ran CC in HS, all the rage was heel striking and nose strips. Haha

Just went back and read that. And yeah. Everybody that swears by this shoe or this method I’m always weary of.
I’ve kicked the arse of lean looking guys wearing 4%s in a race and had my arse kicked by a short chubby guy in dirty old Nikes in a 5k. It’s figuring out what works for you or just having the right genetics.

Ingeniero monthly check-in: still haven't tried running because I'm paranoid my chronic runner's knee is going to come back. Been cycling and doing beach body on demand workouts daily. Squatted 205 last night with no weight training, so the cross training stuff is working. Hopefully will have everything good and rehabbed for some summer/fall races!

I really like that jacket. Good design and colors. Plenty of room for your AARP patch.

You could have had one if you could have found enough change under the couch cushion to pay the entry fee. If the '85 Pinto would have made it to BR, that is.

Ole Burt making 60+ miles a week a reality. I struggle to get 30.

There’s a noticeable presence from this thread on the fat roll thread on the Ot.

Geez that thread is depressing.

Yeah.
I’m not holding anything against people who don’t have fitness goals. Not everyone needs to be rail thin. I’m probably one of the chubbier guys on this thread.
My dad didn’t take care of himself and can’t do jack shite with my kids. He’s 275+ and has bad knees and 0 energy. He just sits there and watches Fox News when my kids are over.
My FiL is 70 and is not in great shape by any means but has taken care of himself through farming and not eating like crap his entire life. Got a little belly but he played b-ball at Mississippi State and has kept a pretty active lifestyle. He has tons of energy and can do things with my kids all day long.
I never want to be a hateful person by any means to anybody... on the other hand, I’m not above fat shaming sometimes. At least in my head.

Hanson’s taper is basically a week and a half of easy runs at same frequency but half the mileage as previous weeks
