R2R2R has been on our list for a while. hopefully next year we will finally get to tackle it. little motivation for you... women's unsupported FKT is 8hrs... men's supported is 5:55. oh and the double crossing is 17:55.

One of my wife’s best friends did R2R2R in under 20 hours. Girl has never ran more than a half marathon competitively. Think her longest training run leading up to it was 16 or 18 miles. Crazy person, but also very fit

Yeeeeah and also a sub 18 and 4:27 Marathon from the same fitness raises eyebrows also. I mean of course if they have zero aerobic base maybe, but the 5K is considered aerobic as well. There is some correlation between 5K time and Marathon but sub 18 and 4:27 is a huge descrepancy.

Just got a cheap entry to grandmas marathon on June 17th. Not completely sold I’ll be as ready as I want to be for it by then but we’ll give it a go.

Does any one else have a problem with Strava’s GPS

Ran today and it said I ran 13.5 when I really ran 9

Every once and again it’ll get screwy depending on the route/device I’m recording on. Other day I ran a 5:35 mile at the end of a workout and it was trying to tell me I ran 5:01 or something dumb like that. I’ve noticed my Apple Watch will screw stuff up like that sometimes though.

Also the occasional trail runs I like to throw down are always a wash. Too many trees/turns for it.

Strava's GPS? What is actually tracking your GPS? Phone? Watch?

Signed up for my first trail marathon on June 3rd. I can run a trail half in ~1:50, so I'm in shape but not shooting for any specific time. Just want to enjoy the day.

how do you define this statement?

" I can run a trail half in ~1:50, so I'm in shape"

which race are you running?

My first thought as well. Not all trails are created equally. I've been disappointed with 2 hours and also been really happy with 2:30.

Mohican 100 is the race I'm running. Ran 1:58 at Mohican a few weeks ago, some less elevated ones around me in ~1:45ish over the course of this spring. The half loop that I run when I go is ~1100ft gain but honestly not sure what the course is that the Mohican 100 runs. I'm guessing somewhere around ~2300ft.

Edit: I am actually running at Mohican this weekend and plan to hit 18mi or so, so I will have a good gauge of where I'm at.

i'll be at mohican as well. originally wanted to do the 100 to get my western states qualifier, but a looped course during the summer doesn't sound fun. so i'll be doing the marathon. looking forward to this course, i've heard good things.

i believe the long loop/marathon is 3800 feet of gain.

Thanks for the info! its my first trail marathon so I’m not looking to hit any time - just want to enjoy the day! Are you local to the area?

No, I’m coming in from east Alabama. But this race has a good rep, And I’m hoping to get a slight break from southern summer heat.
