Thanks man I’m excited. I think I’m good training wise but my bodies been 12 kinds of fricked up the last week and a half with the exception of Saturday. Keep getting wrecked with sinus/allergy shite.

Getting the trots during a run is bad.

Getting the trots at the halfway turn around point of a 5 mile out and back is horrifying.

Started running about 2 or 3 months ago....started on couch 2 5K app...did all the way to week 8 which is the final week I think, and just started doing my own thing.... I basically just started running for 30 minutes on Mon., Wed., and Fridays and was barely, and I mean barely getting 2 miles in under 30 minutes...

Now I get a little more, I get 2.25 miles in, in 30 minutes. I've also changed up and added just a Saturday morning 1 mile run in. Today I'm going to eliminate the 30 minute time and just run for 2.5 miles... and hopefully build up to the 3.2 miles. So far since starting I've lost a total of 15lbs., I know it's not much, but it's a start for me in the right direction.

These June mornings are refreshing, upper 50s here, but I know it won't last. I'll be gasping for every breath soon enough. That's when I hit the bike to create my own wind.

Checks running thread. Makes mistake of reading pedro and ks’s posts. Instantly feels inadequate.

If you really wanna feel bad, Jakob Ingebrigtsen just ran a WR 7:54 for 2 miles. That's back to back sub 4s with no break

Ran a local 5K today. Paced at 7:17 and finished 4th in my age group and 40th overall. Way better than I expected for a terrible course in this brutal heat.

Thinking about getting a run coach. I think the do-it-yourself has taken me as far as it can. I’d love to get to sub 7 min miles in my 5K/10K before I get too old.

jealous, just tried a morning run for the first time in a long time. Weekends i tend to get out around 8ish, today i got out at 540. Normally an after work runner/lift

78 with 90% humidity. Absolutely dragged my fat arse for 3.5 miles. I ran the same thing last Thursday evening while also pushing my baby stroller nearly 1 min/mile faster.

I just need to lose about 20 lbs to get where I want to be with my pace

Question for the data nerds…I picked up a Garmin running dynamics pod because they were almost 50% off on Amazon recently. Have used it for a couple runs now and it gives some interesting info like vertical oscillation, ground contact time, l/r balance.

For those that track similar data, do you do anything with it or attempt to make corrections based on the data?

Based on my small sample, my vertical oscillation is higher than ideal - think it’s averaging around 11cm. Though that is at easy pace of around 9:15/mile. I’m curious if the data is more useful for daily running or faster paces/races. I would think at 9:00/mile most normal runners are going to have more vertical oscillation and ground contact.
