What are yall training for right now?

I have the Bootlegger 50 mile trail run Saturday in Jackson, GA. After a light week or two, I'll start getting ready for a 50k trail race in July and the Yeti 100 miler in September.

CCC10k next Saturday. Got one more tempo this week, then a really easy tempo/rep workout next week to keep the legs fresh. Everything else is easy runs besides that.

speaking of 10k, do we have any TD folks that run Peachtree Road Race? One of the few road races I still do.

No training here and no races on the calendar. Riding the pine with nagging foot / leg issues. Ran twice in the past 4 weeks.

Calendar is full with crew /pace duties.
GF at Massanutten 100 May 20th (will pace around 30 miles)
Friend at western states 100 June 26 (will pace around 20 miles)
Will be in Montana in august so may run Elk Horn 50m but the big news.... GF got selected to SPARTATHLON so we are going to Greece. LINK /

Haven’t really been training, just trying to maintain some fitness. Running the CCC, I’d consider anything under 49 minutes a success.

My tempo went well last night. Held 7:10/mi average for 3 miles. I've got some nagging lower back and knee pain but nothing too serious. I need to get on some mobility and pre-hab stuff. The massage therapist that I see is on my arse about it

Sub 45 is my goal at the Classic. VDOT tables put me at 43:45 but that's optimistic imo.

Anyone keep up with the Boston Marathon? This year has a solid race field and a chance to beat the course record. Race is April 17 and ESPN is providing full coverage if I understood the article correctly. Cant recall if this new or has happened the last few years or not. It will also mark the 10 year anniversary of bombing.

Yea thats going to be a very big pack late in the race unless Kipchoge tries to break away early.

Thats a day that haunts my dreams from time to time. I thank Jesus often for two things that happened that day. First thing, I had to use the restroom around mile 15 ish that took just long enough for me not be on Boylston St. Secondly and more importantly my wife ended up getting a pass to be on the grandstand side of the finish line instead of the general viewing area. Made for some long hours until I was able to reach her.

God I couldnt imagine. Id be horrified.

My Nike run club app has not synced with garmin for my last 4 runs. I have made sure both apps are updated, logged out of both and restarted my phone, and re-synced the apps several times. Does anyone know anything else I can try?

BoCam;

If you haven't been to western states its worth going even as just a spectator. Huge event with lots of pros. lot of accessible aid stations that people gather at to watch and the twilight hour at the finish line is pretty inspiring. the day before is a "race" up the ski slope to emigrant pass that is the first couple of miles of the race and 2500' climb.

I paced my GF from the river crossing to the finish in 2018. Its the only ultra that I still truly want to run but I'm excited to go help my friend get to the finish line.

I'd offer to come down and help you at yeti if you needed it but its same weekend as spartathlon.

Sounds awesome KS. One of the main reasons I'm doing yeti is to get lottery tickets for WS.

Also (update), I finished 3rd overall in the Bootlegger 50 miler this weekend.

This is my first CCC. What is the plan if it’s storming ? For any bets, have they cancelled / rescheduled in the past?

3 weeks away from my first Marathon! Pushed myself so hard leading into my taper (that started yesterday) that Garmin actually told me for the first time since I've been using Garmin, to rest 2 days in a row. Doing smaller runs, not doing long runs on the weekend, and loading up on Protein for the next 3 weeks.

Yeah, their Facebook posts are getting smacked with "what's the weather plan" comments now. My wife wants to run it but I'm thinking about saving that $70 because I'm betting it doesn't happen

Can’t imagine they reschedule. I’m sure if there is no lightning or high winds they will run it. Worst case move up/back the start time to avoid downpours.

Same here, I didn’t sign up yet, and it’s kind of a hard sell with the weather. On the other hand, maybe it will be easier to get a poster if people drop out
