And people wonder why anyone with decent intelligence wants to get as far away from LA as possible.

I would gladly take a pay cut to work at nearly any pediatric hospital as long as it wasn’t in BR, or really anywhere in LA.

I live in SBR and really want to stay here. I’ve lived here my whole life and all of my family lives here. With that said, these sob’s are really making it harder and harder to stick around. It’s probably just a matter of time before we say the hell with it and leave.

Yep. There's no hope once ghetto governance takes over. Imagine Broome and Cantrell trying to sway big business to their cities.

“Choosing a progressive Democrat to fill the vacant District 8 council seat would be a tremendous blow to the St. George effort!” the councilwoman said on her Twitter account.

So stonewall a vote to have the governor appoint one of his own to a district that didn't vote for them and has complete opposite political positions so you can use the death of a council member to block a secession movement

It's amazing. These people can't think more than a few hours into the future.

I can't wait to move.

It's going to be quite interesting if St George gets blocked due to a JBE appointed councilman.

Yeah, they really need to tout that message far and wide. They're tap dancing on a man's grave to get something passed by circumventing the will of his constituents. The fact that they're willing to go so far as to appoint someone who is completely non-representative of his district is about as low as it gets.

They keep saying that they want to unite the city yet they turn around and do the most divisive thing possible. If they follow through with it, you're going to see more division in the city than ever before.

“Unite” has been bastardized by liberals just like “diversity” and “tolerance”.

Today’s Democrats use “unite” to mean “we’re going to do what the Democrats want and the conservatives can frick off”

Yeah, the EBR "unite" means give us more of your money so we can squander it with no expectations of improvement

Really sucks. Only good thing about Baton Rouge is LSU and even F King is doing his best to frick that. I would have loved to live my adult life in BR but there’s just no way with the continued incompetence there. Texas burbs are superior in 99 out of 100 ways.

Metro Council has nothing to do with it. If anything, this bullshite will spur support.

These four councilpersons are actively trying to disenfranchise district 8 voters. Shameful. All because Gary Chambers told them it was a good idea.

It really is what they are doing when it comes down to it. A black dem wouldn't win that seat, so they are taking Amoroso's death as an opportunity to have JBE appoint a dem. I would love to see him appoint a dem. I would hope any middle of the road republicans in EBRP take note during the next election.
