Libertarians have no answer to the decaying of society. Their answer is "let it happen, just leave me the fugg alone".

I'm tired of libertarianism. I used to be an ancap. frick libertarianism. It makes you have no morals. You are very fine with seeing the world you live in crumble in the name of freedom. Perhaps if I was older I wouldn't care so much, but I will perhaps be living with these consequences for the next hundred years.

Legalize it all. If some dumb arse wants to inject heroine in his eye ball then I say let him.

No? And wiki even provided proof of that in regards to high school students in Colorado with weed.

I mean yeah, there's a spectrum to everything. I agree with an individual's right to self-determine, but I also weigh that against the effects on society as a whole.

Like I mentioned earlier, there needs to be a middle ground between ban it all, and allow it all. There are some substances that are, IMO, just too dangerous in small doses to make readily available, even though I believe in one's individual right choose what to do to his or her own body.

It's my belief that the illegal nature of most drugs cause far more societal ills than legalization ever would. Legalization would definitely cut down on associated crimes.

Many OD's in my town have been due to other substances besides heroin or in addition to heroin sold to the unsuspecting buyer.

Pretty simple concept. Gay marriage was legalized, did you come out of the closet and marry a guy just because it was made legal?

This is the argument you made dude.

In general I agree with this, but rarely does one’s actions have absolutely no effect on others.

For example, if you say “I should be able to drive without a seatbelt - my body, my choice”. It sounds great. But if you get into an accident and your body gets thrown 50 yards down the highway, the burden to clean you and your organs off the road fall to someone else - someone else who has to go home after work and try not to think of those images.

I'm for the legalization of mj only right now. I use it just like a person uses beer. Golfing and relaxing around the house.

Heroine and opioids are a little different to me. Highly addictive and more life altering in my opinion. I don't mess with the hard stuff because I understand how addictive they are and once hooked, can really frick your life up. Your life becomes "how do I get more NOW". I'll admit I've never tried heroine, meth, etc, but I think I pretty much understand their possibilities. Have a friend recovering from opioid addiction. He lost his wife and job during his addiction.

While I generally agree I dont think many people are thinking of the medical costs of rampant drug use. You really think people will just let people die regardless of their choices?

How high would insurance premiums be if you said you used heroin regularly?

There's no way legalizing hard drugs on a grand scale doesn't bite society in the arse.

How do you figure this? If legalized and easier to access means most addicts will do more. Do you think they will be gainfully employed? And if testing is required for government assistance and employment there is a greater chance of people stealing since they can't hold a job or get government aid.

When given the choice, how many addicts do you know that will choose to dry up and get a job or just continue with their addiction?

Why do you think the country has the problems we are experiencing today? Children being influenced by irresponsible self absorbed adults has created this mess, now we just need to introduce more drugs into the mix.

Yes to show how absurd the logic was that making heroin legal will turn people into heroin addicts when they’ve never done it before.

I just can't wrap my head around this at all.

Because we are subsidizing bad choices so that people are allowed to avoid consequences.

But we are getting rammed in the arse now.

Legalize possession. Sell it like alcohol. Allow testing by employers. Test by government for government assistance.

It takes the money out of the cartels hands. Our border becomes much safer. Illegal immigration slows down. It cuts back costs of war on drugs. Frees up prisons that are costing us too much.

It’s a win, win, win.

This is what I replied to

This is what you somehow thing I said.

Yes, I believe SOME people will in fact try Heroin because it is now legal and there is now ABSOLUTELY no punishment. It takes all of 5 minutes to research it online and read about how great it is from the user's perspective. So now, I don't think everybody will turn into addicts, but I can definitely some people developing problems because of it. It seems pretty obvious to me. I don't know what I'm missing.
