Just a refresher for our positive LSU fan base. Over the past several weeks, major sports outlets such as USA Today, ESPN, Sporting News and others have reported an abundance of positive news about the state of LSU football, not the least of which was recognizing White and Greedy as preseason All Americans on LSU's 2018 defense and recognizing James Cregg as one of the talented O-line coaches entering college football.

But the avalanche of good news for the Tigers really began when Coach Orgeron got one of Ohio St's top QB's to transfer to LSU, it was then that numerous major high school recruits began committing to the LSU football program, and LSU is suddenly looking like QBU with a top 3 recruiting ranking. Burrow reportedly is working out very well with LSU players, and new Oline coach James Cregg is working out well with the LSU staff, there's a lot of bonding together on this current LSU team, it seems the good news just keeps pouring in like an avalanche.

Here's a breakdown of LSU's new and talented O-line coach James Cregg, he coached with the Chargers after spending three seasons in the same role with the Denver Broncos. He was on the Broncos staff when they won Super Bowl 50 in 2016. Cregg also has a well-established history with Orgeron. The duo went head-to-head in practice on a daily basis from 2009-13. Any O-line concerns suddenly appear alleviated with such a talented coach on LSU's staff.

LSU is suddenly making national news, but for all the good reasons.

It’s been a good offseason. Hopefully it will translate into a good season.

Nothing like a nice, positive thread to conversate about. I don't think we're close to QBU yet my man but we're definitely getting out share. I love the optimism though.

See there's being positive and there's people getting carried away. When you say things like this and it turns out to not be that, that's where the criticism comes in.

Don't worry there goldrush25. Positivity isn't allowed to last very long around here. You can count on the usual juvenile suspects to "Derek" any such posts.

This alleged avalanche of good news will only matter if it’s followed by an avalanche of wins this fall and winter

The expectations are now through the roof and I expect them to follow through

Very good chance this team is undefeated heading into turkey weekend.

there's a lot of bonding together on this current LSU team

Dave Aranda says:
"On Eaux: The whole team is energized. He does a great job of keeping everybody fresh and keeping everybody excited about what they are doing. Everyone is excited to come to work, everyone is smiling and laughing. It's a real positive place right now.

The kids pick up on it too. We are in Tiger stadium now and when they make their way over here they are hanging out with everybody and having fun. They feel like there is a tightness, they feel like a team including the freshmen and transfers. You give all that credit to Coach Eaux he has done a great job of cultivating that. He is getting the guys to where there is an edge to them and a togetherness to them and that is what you want."
Jordy and T-Bob talk to LSU Defensive Coordinator Dave Aranda.

Not as impressive as this:
"In his lone year with the Chargers, Cregg assisted with an offensive line that allowed the fewest sacks in the NFL (18) and helped pave the way for running back Melvin Gordon, who rushed for a career-best 1,105 yards.

He coached a line that featured three players making their first NFL start, and tutored Russell Okung to an appearance in the 2018 Pro Bowl. The Chargers finished as the top passing offense in the NFL and they ranked fourth overall in total yards in 2017.

In 2009, he was hired to coach the offensive line at the University of Tennessee. That season, the Volunteers allowed just 12 sacks, tied for fewest on the Southeastern Conference.

moving to California to become the offensive line coach at USC for the next four seasons (2010-13). Cregg coached first-team All-Pac-12 selections in each of his four years with the school, including offensive tackles and future NFL first-round picks Tyron Smith (No. 9, Dallas, 2011) and Matt Kalil (No. 4, Minnesota, 2012).

In 2011, USC finished second in the nation in sacks allowed (eight) despite not starting a senior along the offensive line. Kalil was named first-team All-America, while guard Marcus Martin was chosen as a first-team Freshman All-America."
