I'm totally aware over 70% of Miami Dade speaks spanish, but I don't know if I'm down with a spanish name like that for an MLS club.

Among the names being considered are Futbol Club Internacional de Miami (Inter Miami) and Futbol Club Atletico Miami (Atletico Miami), both of which would make sense with the city’s international flair and Hispanic influence. The ownership group also registered variations of the name Miami Freedom, but it is more likely one of the traditional soccer names will be chosen.

Failed horribly for Chivas. Works for Real Salt Lake.

I had heard Nautico Miami a while back. I like that.

It’s funny to me how desperate we are to be European.
United, Football Club, etc.

Was just going to post the same thing. These MLS team names are so ridiculous and so cringe.

The original names in the MLS were worse, and the US structure of naming via the mascot, just wouldn't work in soccer. In comes off as relatively cheesy as well.

Miami CF would be fine given the huge Hispanic population

while i sort of agree, team names like The San Jose Earthquake or Chicago Fire are pretty cringe too. And the fact that a team named after a product, Red bulls, still exists drives me crazy, but If any city is going to go with a european/latino inspired name, Miami is the club to do it.
Just had a quick look at all of the team names, and surprisingly I really only had issues with the ones above, i thought there were more i disliked. Most seem to work imho. I don't really like "Real" Salt Lake, but that's about it.

Inter Miami actually sounds pretty good to me as does Miami CF/FC (however you want to do it). Kim actually have a vested interest as this will be my team living only an hour away(first south Florida team I actively root for)

I have no problem with blatant pandering towards the Hispanic population
If it helps vieweship/financial support for MLS, it is a positive move
