Someone not hired by Joe Alleva. We'd have a better chance at competence then.

Wow, this is insane. NF should be fired, not extended.

An argument could be made that this a worse decision than the O hire. While the O hire was an incredibly poor and irrational decision, at least there was an argument to be made for program stability.

Take time to let the BOS know how you feel about this bullshite. Fargas getting an extension right now is an absolute slap in the face to the fanbase.

Alleva has to have a personal vendetta against LSU it seems like he’s purposely running the program into the ground. the Board of Supervisors is just sitting back and letting him do it that’s what’s so puzzling

Appreciate you posting that

I know many like to joke around that it’s WBB. It will never be a money maker exactly but as a real fan of LSU athletics, as someone who wants LSU to succeed in all it’s sports.

This to me is a major slap in the face and a giant middle finger to fans of the program. WBB when ran correctly can draw great crowds and excitement. We saw it during the pokey era and across the SEC currently

The irony about all of this is when Nikki first came to LSU. In her hiring press conference, the very first things she alluded to to building an elite program is “having the players”.

I've heard rumblings (nothing definitive), that this may be the final straw for Joe. Here's to hoping the BOS shoots this down Friday, and he's shown the door. This shite is just getting pitiful.

I don't understand the Runion contract. He gets promoted to head coach but has to take a 20% pay cut for the honor? That has to be a mistake. I am guessing that they have the numbers backward and it is an increase, not a pay cut.

The BOS has a new majority appointed as of June 1, 2018. we don't know yet whether this BOS will behave in the same fashion that the Jindal BOS did.
The only justification I have heard offered for this obvious train wreck decision is that if the current coach is fired, we have very few minority coaches.
If so, how do we find ourselves in such a vulnerable position?
Who is the person responsible for assuring that we have adequate diversity among our coaching staffs?

It won't, but it CAN be less of a "money drain". I guarantee you that when LSU was making Final Fours and drawing 9-10K a night, they weren't turning a profit, but they for damn sure weren't losing $4 million a year like they are now.

So it is all relative. It is worth a good investment to have a good program because you will lose less money.

Based on Alleva's past efforts(?), he is completely committed to the lazy, easy way out, regardless of the results. That's his standard.

Serious question....and I think someone mentioned it earlier. Could the Board see the proposal for the Fargas contract extension, think about it logically for 3 seconds, and say "GTFO. We will not approve this"? Has this ever happened to our knowledge? What would happen if this occurred?
