Will Tyler Shelvin play this year or eat his way out of playing time?

Appears to have tons of talent to go with way too much weight.

Any updates on him hopefully getting into better playing shape would be appreciated.

He's massive but moves well for his size. He'll be dominant.

frick. So many good memories from Louie's late night gut bombs.

Kid has a decision to make.

Last update had him around 350 or so. I think that's the maximum weight he should play at but ideally be around 335 to 340. He's just a big dude so he's always going to be heavey. I wouldn't sleep on Livingston either, he's another big guy, like Shelvin will play heavey. They're bigger than big Ed Alexander who isn't small either. Big Ed should play around 325 or 330 ideally.

I would love to see some type of GL defense or short yardage defense with those 3 on the line. Hell I might try a defense with two of them and then two DEs as a regular 1st down package. Those LBers could eat up anything that attempts the outside. I don't think anyone would even try to go inside with those big boys in there. Eat up 4 OLman at once with two DLman.

That would put an offense in a critical choice situation. Should we try to block one of them 1vs1 or double team them. I think you could come up with some crazy blitz packages with two of those NTs in there. They aren't exactly slow either. Add some of these 265 to 270 lb DE/LBrs and Aranda could have a field day.

This. It’s the very thing that makes him special.

Man, that kinda sounds good. It’s been a while since I had me some Louie’s,

Is “both” an option?

Blah blah blah. It doesn’t matter how much he weighs. He’s supposed to be fat, he’s a fricking nose tackle! His onecabd only job is to be so big it takes two linemen to block him.

Bunch of losers on here worrying about a fat mans weight

Weight isn’t necessarily an issue but conditioning is.

If any player can only play a couple plays in a row without needing a breather he is situational at best.

Love to see him save his appetite and eat several QB's and RB's this fall.

Doesn’t matter unless he gets into shape because he wouldn’t be able to 3 plays and have to come out. This is the reality when you have to play HU offenses and believ me, even Bama will go uptempo this season. As usual LSU will be behind the times.

Shelvin will be fine. He's no Valentine.

As much as people want to compare the two, Shelvin is NOT Travonte Valentine 2.0. Kid is very well driven, and does everything that is expected of him. He'll play.

He will play but the question is how much? As the previous poster pointed out conditioning and stamina is the issue when carrying that much weight.
