Unless brees is an idiot though, he’s getting insurance policies written out on these gems. Wouldn’t the appraisal by insurance reveal their true worth?

Her let him buy it? What makes you think she knew in advance? How is it you’re blaming her?

Not just athletes. Look at how the Saban's invested in places around Baton Rouge.

I'm in the dark on this one. What happened?

Saban is at least part owner of the Birmingham Mercedes dealership, which seems like a solid business based on what I've heard. I guess they made some bad investments in BR?

Like Peyton? He only won one by himself. He was trash in 2015. Almost screwed it up for that defense.

I hope Brees wins this; if he's ripping off Brees, he's probably ripping off everybody who doesn't know the jewelry market

I've got no problem if you want to rip off people on something so irresponsible as $8MM diamonds. If you're selling a fake diamond or something, that's different, but not something like this.

Sometimes those black and gold shades just blind ya. brees is a glorified game manager who has underacheived his whole career. Any blind hog can win one championship. He plays for a pass happy coach who makes numbers look goods, but not wins.

How someone could make the money he’s made and not have plenty money is baffling.
I don’t care if he has 15 kids.

This sounds like a story you would read about a diva wide receiver or cornerback thats careless with money, not a 39 year old hall of fame quarterback who graduated from Purdu

That's a big if. And in his case an unnecessary risk. With that income the smart thing to do is be as conservative as possible. He isn't an investment analyst. He's a dumb arse.

If I was buying jewelry for say 20 million dollars, and I found out it was worth less than half that and the dude I bought it from called me cash poor because he’d been robbing me blind...ten different alligators would be shitting this guy out before anyone realized he was missing.

Hopefully you wouldn't be dumb enough to be dropping that much on jewelry in the first place though.

Sure buying gold like bullion and coins at market prices and then selling when the prices go up can be considered a safe investment, but most financial advisors don't generally promote buying gold

But, Brees is like the old men who buy gold collectable coins and pay beyond the price of gold because they are led to believe that the gold coin is also a collectable and has value beyond the gold as a collectable.

I can't believe Brees was this stupid to buy jewelry and think he was making an investment like buying stocks, property, bonds, and precious metals.
