It wouldn't be any better if it was his shoulder, IMO.
I realize it's hard to answer this without real information, but just reading between the lines, what would you say are the chances we see Hilliard again this year?
I'd put it at about 10%.

To my knowledge, neither Lang or Poche' had any arm problems during there freshmen season.

It's all the tournament ball they play growing up before they get to college.
I've said this often.
Daddy coached travel ball teams that burn kids arms are ruining baseball.
I know a 10 year old that had to be shut down from pitching for 6 months because of arm problems. Basically the doc told him if he didn't take some time off he would need TJ surgery. 10 years old.
And our warm climate and 10 months a year of travel ball makes it worse.

Why would Hilliard not be rested after all that time? Edit. OK. Just saw where he has arm soreness.

I don't remember Poche's freshman year, but Lange skipped a start his freshman year. Had kind of a dead arm thing, which can be worked through. He was fine after that. It was also a way to manage his workload.

I don't think Poche had any issues but then again his arm was made out of stretch armstrong

Most don't, but if someone does have arm issues their freshman season it's not because of their college coach. Those arm injuries don't happen overnight. It's a culmination of years of overuse and/or genetics. It has become an epidemic in baseball because of how much earlier kids are overusing their arms and how many games they throw at an early age. Kids 20-30 years ago weren't playing 70+ games of travel ball every year pre-adolescence. That has become the norm. Even when I was a kid in the early 90s, we didn't play nearly as many games as kids did 10 years later. If people try to blame Mainieri for arm issues our pitchers have that is just ignorance, plain and simple. Most of these injuries have just been ticking time bombs before the kids ever step foot on campus.

Elbow pain would likely mean he's done for the season.
If it's just sore arm muscles from throwing 97 pitches last week, he'll likely be fine next weekend.
It makes a big difference where and what kind of pain he's having. The part-time baseball fans and full-time snowflakes who like to troll the board don't know nor care about the difference.

Stop playing. You know CPM is to blame for this.
Don't take away the rantards dream scenario of having a pitcher get hurt so they can blame CPM for it, and make 30 threads about how he over uses pitchers.

For all the talk about Peterson and Hess' great game on Saturday, Sanders looked the best and had three outstanding outings. He completely dominated and the "hit" he allowed on Sunday was definitely foul.
I give him allot of credit, he looked as bad as a pitcher could look for basically the whole season, but he kept working and it paid off big time for us.

Yes, it irks me too that bastard loosely throwing out "elbow" pain. But I agree he's most likely a clueless troll (not to mention a dickhead).
