Anyone use both? How do they compare?
I’ve used Uber satisfactorily for a while but just received a special promotion from Lyft so may try it and keep both apps.

They are both pay day loan scams for the drivers.

Basically the same. It’s not complicated.

I use Uber weekly unless the surge rate gets out of hand.

lyft, in my experience, has better cars and drivers. it's usually, but not always, cheaper too.

i've had some very trashy drivers and cars with uber.

Lyft has a better intro deal for customers, IMHO. Lyft also has higher vehicle standards for their drivers. Uber has a better app, IMHO.

I used Lyft for a while when my Uber app crashed and kept using it until I got around to downloading a newer version.

I use Uber almost exclusively now. Mostly the drivers are cool and interesting, sometimes they're indifferent and would rather just get you to your destination, and sometimes (e.g. the woman who drove me yesterday) the drivers are batshit crazy.

You just never know.

Luff seems to offer better deals more frequently. They constantly send promo codes.

Keep both...check both...confirm the cheaper ride.

In my experience Lyft has been cheaper and the drivers have been better. Lyft also apparently treats its drivers much better.

I’ve had a few Uber drivers whose cars were dirty and smelled of smoke or dog. Had one lady who made me late to work because she had to drop off her kid en route.

I check both and use whatever’s cheaper.

Needed a ride from LGR to my apartment, Lyft was 2x as much as Uber. Uber it was

I use Uber because their receipts upload directly to my account in Chrome River. Makes expense reporting seamless and easy.

I prefer Lyft because it syncs with my Delta Skymiles and I get a mile for every dollar spent on Lyft.

It’s not a lot but it’s free miles.

Always had better experiences with Lyft. It seems that most of the cab guys went to Uber. With Lyft it seems that you get normal people who are trying to make a few extra bucks with their free time. I think they pay/treat their drivers better as well. I’m sure you’ll get a lot of crossover between the two but that has been my experience anyway.

Used Uber 2-3 times a day while at Disney World this past week. Can’t say enough good things about the service. Wait times for a ride averaged about 5 minutes and all drivers were friendly with clean cars. Cost was about $7 a trip, with the ride to the airport being $30 (taxi charged me $70...so frick them). Spent about $125 for the week and never had to wait for a ride to and from places. Was well worth the expense.

I’d never used Uber before, but I will now. Some of the drivers explained to me how it worked and it’s defijitely hard to make a living driving for them. Uber takes $3.80 immediately off the top, and then another 25% while the driver gets 75% plus tips.

They also all drove for Lyft as well. Said Lyft was a little cheaper than Uber, but it’s the same basically for the drivers.

They are both the same and most drivers appear to have an uber and lyft sticker. We try both and go with whoever is cheaper and closer.

Lyft seems to have more promotions, but you have to watch the fine print. And some cities seem to have more of one than the other. Not sure why, but we went to Chicago last year and it was all lyft. Went to NYC and plenty of ubers.

From my experience, lyft drivers are more professional. I exclusively use them now.

I used to use Uber exclusively. I started using Lyft because it was cheaper and stick with it for the most part unless Uber is the only one available.

Uber in BR and really most places has completely lost control of their quality control. I had a driver pick me up from the St. Patrick's Day parade in BR that looked like she had just finished prostituting at a Motel 6, her car was old and filthy, and she was smoking a cig as she drove us. It has become a complete crap shoot as to what you'll get with BR Ubers now.

The creepy taxi drivers in other cities seem to have all gone to Uber. Lyft has just been a better and cheaper experience everywhere I've been. Lyft also sends out discounts like crazy.
