Can’t realky judge till after the season...possibility for injuries and such. On paper, we look damn solid.
2009-11 is hard to beat

Prime Jahri and Nicks was a dominant duo.
The current line overall may be better when healthy though.

Current OL has better tackles if healthy.
But nicks/Evans were both HOF caliber dudes.

Jahri and Nicks were def better guards, both All Pros, but you right, overall this may be the best Saints OLine. Armstead has to prove he can stay healthy and be dependable.

This is pretty much it. G's were the strength then but T's are the strength now. Although I do think our G's now are probably better than the T's were back then.
I think overall the line is probably better, last year with Kelemete coming off the bench especially. But obviously winning a SB trumps all.

The other poster "jennyjones" pretty much said this, just didn't spell it out like that to the point, but I knew what they were driving at when they said "overall" this line may be the best.

This is the key. I don’t disagree IF they can prove to stay healthy. Guards are really good now, but Jahri and Nicks were All-Pro, HOF caliber. Certainly Tackle and Center we are better now. Depth wise we might be better now too. It’s all about staying healthy and progressing

2000 with Willie roaf Kyle Turley and company was pretty good if I remember correctly

Good call.
a lot of skill position players got hurt that year yet the O-line remained intact.
a big reason why that season was so fun (2000).

Evans and Nicks were once monster road graders and consistent QB pocket-makers. Best Saints guard duo I've ever seen here. Add Bushrod & Strief who were Super (Bowl) solid.
Yet, the way the whole OL blocked for Ingram & Kamara in that Bills massacre last year was downright historic. Inside, outside, middle, left, right, all day, 4 quarters, 60 minutes...simply unstoppable.
Hard to choose. I call a tie.

Pretty damn good, but we've had some pretty strong lines. That SB line was pretty damn strong. We had the best guard tandem in football at one point. I can remember some very strong lines during the late 80s/early 90s too. And the Roaf years were pretty damn strong. With that said, I believe this line can be very special in it's own right. A little improvement with pass blocking could really make this one stand out.

Don’t know man. Stan Brock and Jim Dombroski anchored a really really good line back in ther day

Ramczyk will be an all pro this year and a hall of famer. He’ll look good next to willie.

“Healthly” is the operative word -if healthy, could be. A long season will need depth. One of the reasons I like our 7th round pick; can play all inside positions.

They haven’t played a down, so I’ll reserve judgement.

I know Evans and Nicks are supposed to be revered on o-line Rushmore, but Warford/Peat are just as good. Probably better at run blocking.
Armstead and Ram are significantly better than Bushrod and Stinch.
Goodwin was out of the league two years after he left the Saints. Unger is an upgrade.
As usual, our coach makes o-line and Skill offensive positions better than they are.
This is our best o-line ever if healthy. And Evans / Nicks were not HOF caliber. Get real people.
