$1 million would allow you to buy all but a couple houses in BR. Hell, you could probably buy 75% of NBR for $1 million.

I think someone bought the land and the burned out house came with it.

We just had a client pay 600k for teardown on a 1ac lot here in Nashville. Will tear down house for 20k and if they want to continue sidewalk Metro wants 90k. Prices are almost as ridiculous here as they are in Cali

Damn it. I thought Bachmann had already spent all of Big Head's money.

I have always wondered something when i see prices like that for normal or small houses.

If the property values are that sky high out there, what would a 150k job in Louisiana pay you out in Cali?

Just seems it’s all relative. You may make bank out there working but the cost of stuff is crazy high.

Nah, it's not equal at all for most people. 50 year mortgages are more normal than 15. Sure the upper middle class makes more, but it's not like minimum wage is $30/ hr. Cali is expensive.

Look at NYC, you have people making $200k that live in 400 sq ft apts. Those jobs may pay $100k elsewhere but your $100k gets you more.

2008 anyone?

What kills me is thst banks lend money to W-2 employees which are most always at-will. What kind of “security”’ is that?

Why do people keep seeing the house?
It’s obviously the land and location.

Heck in BR a 800 sq. ft. house in Southdowns will run you $300k

Yep. Its a tear down. The price of the lot is the primary cost.
