I lived in NYC for a year and while it was fun when I was 23 and single it sounds like hell on Earth being married with kids.

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned Madison, Mississippi.

Dallas Fort Worth metro. Hands down, that's a safe choice IMO. Not Dallas proper, I'm talking Southlake, Colleyville, Denton, Flower Mound areas.

For the crowd:

Raleigh is way overrated...sure you have the 3 big colleges and a few smaller ones in the area, but...it's 3 full hours away from a decent beach, 3 hours from any worthy mountains...the city is OK, but not great or having any real character...
The population is loaded with aloof snobby jackasses, the Asians are the only ones working in that town...

Parts of Atlanta blow Raleigh out of the water...and the people are less shitty to each other
Downtown, Decatur, Sandy Springs, Woodstock, new Smyrna, all good.

And as stated here, Chattanooga and Savannah are leaps and bounds better than Raleigh...
Heck Raliegh isn't as good as Ashville, Charlotte or Wilmington...
And personally, I have more fun with my vet bros in Fayettenam and Shitsboro
