Everybody wants to speculate on whether Da CoachO can achieve ten or more wins a year and return LSU to the national elite. That's essential to success at LSU, but a lot more is expected of the Tigers' football HC.
Some recent threads talk about Les Miles being a class act and great representative of the school, despite being goofy at times and, ultimately, needing to be fired. He did some very kind things for sick kids and athletes and seemed to love LSU.
What kind of legacy can we expect from Coach O a decade from now, as a coach, and as a man?

He'll be on a hallman level.

Despised. Thought of as not only a bad coach but a not so good person

The worse coach in Ole Miss football history. The 2nd worst coach in the last century of LSU football.

Most likely, a failure. Even if he gets some 9 win seasons, which would be respectable at most schools, LSU is not supposed to be in that bucket. If he doesn't get multiple 11+ win seasons, he will be seen as the program killer. Earned or not, it's National Championship or bust.

and as a man

He isn't in the same universe in terms of charm as Les. He's more like Bobby Bowden without the skillset, results, or candor. As an LSU graduate, he's the worst public figurehead one could ask for. He is a big fat zero in terms of likableness for anyone outside of Cajun country. "In over his head," will probably be the kind way to remember him. "Buffoon," probably the not so nice way.

I still think he's a politician first, "coach," second so he may wiggle his way around that. You never know. He did get hired, after all.

A speed bump after a botched departure from Miles.

They should have never retained Miles to fire him a few games into the season. That’s how we got into this mess

He will be the answer to a popular sports trivia question once Danny Etling becomes the next Tom Brady.

“Name all three head coaches Danny Etling played for in college”

It’s going to separate the men from the boys at pluckers on Wednesday nights 20 years from now

Considering he’s already lied to the fan base about hiring the best coordinators in the county, only to promote within. Also telling the fan base “we’re close” after losing to Bama by 10 in 2016, only to lose by 14 in 2017 and follow it up with “we’re coming”. I would say he’s legacy as a man isn’t starting off on the right foot. Maybe he’ll change, but we’ve heard that before.
As a coach, I would imagine he’s an average coach with a couple mediocre bowl appearances.
I really don’t see how he's all of a sudden become a premier coach. He hasn’t proved that he’s capable of competing for championships at any school.
Not sure where people get he’s going to be this great coach now.
It’s funny how for years people here would talk about keeping that guy away from our program, now we have to listen to these new comers tell us how we’re the stupid ones.

Honestly? His hiring ruined the program. That is his legacy. The damage done from this continuously evolving disaster will take decades to undo.

I think he will be remembered only as the coach that couldn't put LSU back together again.

He won't be the worst coach. But he sure won't be the one to return them to glory either.
