This is just as stupid as the story in the OP.

If Josh Allen were black, he would be drafted in the fourth round like Logan Thomas was.

Watson was on fire in the NFL before he got injured.

Hope he can pick up where he left off, because he is fun to watch.

Sorry, I don't feel Lamar Jackson would be as good in a championship game as Watson was. Even if on Clemson.. versus Alabama.. I don't see him playing any better.

Just an opinion though.

Lamar Jackson had better numbers last season, but look at their schedule. It was atrocious. Probably the best team they played was FSU, who struggled to even make a bowl game.

Lamar Jackson threw 4 INTS versus the only legit SEC team he played against. (not counting kentucky)

So in two games against the SEC, he was not even close to being special. Not even close. Sorry but Watson at least makes those games close.

how did Cam and Winston both go #1?

Cam Newton completion % in college: 65.4%
Jameis Winston completion % in college: 66%

Lamar Jackson completion % in college: 57%
Michael Vick completion % in college: 56%

"But Michael Vick . . . " I think teams have changed their views since the 2001 NFL Draft, especially with passing getting such a big emphasis. Also, Michael Vick career completion % in the NFL: 56.2%

even Mariota (not white i guess) hasn't panned out and he was basically universally respected as a "can't miss" prospect

Mariota has panned out. He was pretty good two years ago and I know he struggle last season, but he also was playing on one leg and pulled his hamstring. Plus he has the second worst coaching staff in the NFL.

Also see Chiefs playoff game before saying he hasn't panned out.

Definitely not, smaller dual threat QBs are phasing out. He abandons the pocket and takes off running way too much to last in the NFL for a decade.

Also inaccurate QBs in college tend to also be inaccurate in the NFL. As to why all those excited about Josh Allen, they're about to get frickED.

non-story.

Put that Clemson supporting cast around Jackson and they would have skullfricked LSU

Meh, the point was he wouldn't do anything versus Alabama. Even if at Clemson I don't see him doing any better.

Seriously look at these two games versus SEC west teams.

37% and 41.9% in those 2 games. That's awful.

It's nice he put up monster stats against a ton of bad teams and all..

And white skill position players fall in the draft for the same exact reason. Will wait for that article to be written

Lamar Jackson needs 2-3 years sitting behind a good qb to be ready. If ever. He's so damn inconsistent.

Cam and Winston developed their character issues long before the NFL. Vick and Russell's came to light long after they had been signed.

Manziel operated out of structure to an extreme degree and got bailed out by Mike Evans time and time again. It was always a long shot as to whether his play style would translate to the NFL.

Despite what many seem to think Jackson is efficient from and patient in the pocket only scrambling as his last option. His surrounding talent was miles and miles worse than what Manziel played with as evidenced by the receiving corps' drop rate; watch the '16 Houston game for a sampling of just how bad the OLine was as well.

When this guy finished penning this article I can just picture him taking a big exhale and thinking to himself, "Man, I really put together a convincing argument."

Mind blowing isn't it?

Dude threw for 4200 yards and 40 TDs with a 69% completion rate in 2013 because Mike Evans was winning jump balls all year
