I guarantee she does 98% of the actual work that Tasha is supposed to do.

Admittedly I didn't do any due diligence. Hell until I got into the voting booth, I didn't know it was on the ballot. Once in the booth, I basically saw "Would you like to help seniors...." and figured that yes it was a good thing to help seniors live independently or help give some reprieve to their caretakers. Now, it is by far the DUMBEST I have ever voted in my life. I 100% guarantee that if this was voted on again, it wouldn't even be close. Dytarsha would still ONLY make $105k a year.

And that's the problem right there. Apathy and ignorance in the voting populace and voting with your fricking heart instead of your brain.

EDIT: Not necessarily pointing at any one person in general, just lamenting the damnable mindset that gets us to this point. If people would fricking think, we wouldn't be here.

They have to renew the millage once a year, so technically, they could vote against the enactment of the millage for 2019.

I thought it was basically done for at least 5 years. If you are correct and ANYONE on the MC votes to renew, we will all know where part of their income comes from. If anyone not on the payroll can defend these thieves, I would LOVE to hear it.

Won't happen again. I will do as my dad does and just vote NO on EVERY tax. I for sure will do my due diligence if I ever vote yes again.

Hey, vote for a tax if you want, but make damned sure you do that diligence thing first.

OTGT at the council chambers when it comes up? We could meet all of our favorite cartoon characters. We could all get matching T-shirts that say "I'm with stupid".

Admittedly it was a HUGE mistake. The fact I am paying for a single hamburger for that particular fatass, Grimace, makes me hate myself.

I think it's every year, but I could be wrong.

Eh, they can easily defend it by saying "this is what the people want". The vote last year to approve the levy was the hardest to justify being that they were on the heels of multiple major scandals. If they voted for it then, the next one should be cake barring some very extreme circumstance like major, overt, prosecutable corruption.

Can we create these t-shirts?

The scandals came out AFTER the vote. Trust me, I remember. Had Nak and the Plummer situation come out before, my vote would of been different.

Yes, but the council has to vote to levy the millage. Just because the people vote for it doesn't mean it's automatically enacted. The MC could've stopped the millage (the vote was months after all the scandal blew up) but they voted to enact it - thanks to Freiberg.

I am aware but my point is had this scandal broke before the public vote, it would have NEVER gotten a yes vote from me and most others.

I think it broke around the time of the vote, but I can't remember exactly when. They were also under investigation for a campaign violation and, unbeknownst to the public, Tasha was receiving overtime from a FEMA grant after the flood despite the fact that she's not allowed to receive OT (she even went back and retro-amended the COA bylaws so she could get the money).

All of that came out AFTER the vote. Believe me when the Plummer story broke the first thing I thought was "damn had this come out before the vote, I would have voted NO". Now the MC vote happened after the story broke which is why myself and many others are pissed with Freiberg. Had the story broke before the public vote, the MC would of never had a chance to vote on this issue.

She filled sandbags for Seniors for over 80 hours in a week

Who doesn’t deserve a lil bonus after working that hard?
