As opposed to running the program in the ground by keeping Cam Cameron around & some of his old cronies? The team down the stretch played much better than they did earlier in the season. We saw marked progress. This is mainly what I’m talking about
Like say hiring Ensminger?
No cronyism there?
We played shittier teams down the stretch too.
People act like a try was some big wake up call. We beat a 4-8 Florida team by 1 point when their kicker missed an XP. We looked good in 1 game this year. Auburn. Other than that we looked like shite play even worse shite 90% of the time.
And if you did see any progress on offense, we just hit reset, and fired the OC.

And if he pulls a top 10 class this year you’ll say ________?? Again, I know 1 year of sample size might confirm your bias in your mind, but this is not how smart people work.
Judging O recruiting ability as a HC based off a top 10 class this year would be judging him on the outlier not the norm.
This will work itself out on the field, but the shite you’re talking about isn’t some unique thing to Les.

Ensminger isn't a crony of his?

After he'd already ruined any chance of them doing anything of significance this year. There was nothing to lose at that point.
That's what O is great at, pick a team up that's been knocked down on the mat. That's why he's a great interim coach. He's not proven to be as good with a team coming in with expectations.

Depends. We have the talent in state to be a top 5 class, right? Lower than 5 would be a disappointment this year.

I'm actually a body of work type of guy, and I think I've been consistent on that. I'm not going off of 1 year, I'm going off of four years. But I could see how you want to take a wait-and-see mindset because you don't want to believe what the entire body of work tells us.
You're actually want to disregard his past results and only focus on the current. That's not how smart people work.
Additionally, it hasn't precisely been just one season. He had most of 2016 as well, a head start most other coaches aren't afforded.

Why is his win % much higher at lsu?
Goddamn, you’re dumb.
He walked into a lot better situation at LSU than at Ole Miss with much better material.
You could make me coach of the Golden State Warriors tomorrow and I guarantee you on talent alone and with me yelling the occasional “Let’s go, Steph!” and letting the assistants coach—we’d still win more than we lost.
Pay attention to what these other posters are saying. Orgeron will never improve the TRAJECTORY of any program he takes over.
LSU’s trajectory was much higher than Ole Miss’s at the time O was hired.

Because I still think he can recruit his arse off and I think this year will show that.
Why are you giving him a pass for the 2018 class? It's the worst class in the last 10+ years.
I think Orgeron is a hell of a recruiter when he is selling someone else's program. I think he is having trouble selling an Orgeron run program and I think other coaches are easily negatively recruiting us.
I think this season makes or breaks Orgeron. If he can win 10 games and sign a top 5 recruiting class then he may be able to build something. If he loses 5 or 6 and the recruiting class starts to slip I think he's gone.

And as dumb as he sounds I think he can be better program manager than Miles because he’s wiling to adapt.
Holy shite, you really are retarded.

He’d better be gone.
And Alleva with him.

That's not true. We looked damn impressive against BYU.....until we found out they were a 4-9 team.

more like Interim O that got him gig
I sure hope not. He lost to a 14 point dog at home as interim O.
So tired of d-bags constantly pointing to the loss to Florida as evidence of poor coaching.
What, pray tell, were the coaching mistakes that led to the loss? Was it the fumble deep in our end of the field on a kickoff that led directly to a FLA score? Was it the fumble deep in their end of the field that kept us from scoring? Was it the missed field goal? Was it Donte missing a tackle on a pass play that shouldn't have meant squat but ended giving them points? Was it Guice going the wrong way on the final play of the game?
Those were all mistakes that our guys normally don't make, but, for some reason, they all happened on that day. Except for the field goal misses, we haven't seen those mistakes being made over and over again.

Will go first, and the new AD will be hiring our next FB coach. O and Alleva are both on thin ice with the BOS after the Canada debacle.

Lol you think Miles was adaptable ?
Miles ran a fine program until his methods stopped working & players stopped responding

Because when I examine the class I actually really like it. It’s line heavy, there are some small school guys who didn’t get their due, & a few juco guys sprinkled in for immediate helps
Nelson Jenkins for instance was a 3 star from Plaquemines who Saban pushed hard for.
Dantrieze Scott might be the best athlete in our whole class. 3 star from Ferriday.
If these guys played at Curtis or West Monroe they’d be high 4 star players

O adapting would be hiring Kendall Briles, not some senior citizen that hasn’t been an OC in 20+ years. Miles hiring his buddies is a bad thing, yet O doing the same is praised. At least Cameron was over qualified for the position.

Fair enough. I guess we’ll have to wait and see how some of those guys pan out before truly evaluating the class, but you can’t bring up holes left on the roster by Miles and then ignore the fact that the 2018 class left glaring holes at QB and CB.

Well that's fine, but call it what it is, which is your own personal bias as opposed to the consensus of a larger group of professionals that evaluate these guys for a living.

What are you basing this on? I've pretty much resigned to the fact that your love of O is some kind of really in-depth, long-con troll.

Yea I’m sure you thought Cam Cameron was a good hire too.
Reality is you don’t know shite about coaching hires
Ya!! Kendal briles because he is young must be better, right?
