With all these new platforms with original content and traditional media with it's own content, it just seems that there is just way too much to consume. I just don't have to time to watch some of the stuff that other people rave over. What a time to be alive

Yeah it's nearly impossible to stay up with all the best shows.

Too much good content available. I don't care that there are a thousand channels and options that have content that isn't for me. More power to the folks that like that stuff. But it's at the point where I won't be able to see everything I want unless I have a long retirement.

Yeah my DVR is loaded right now and barely have time to watch the 30 minute local news.

Took me 2 years just to rewatch The Sopranos

Lately I have trouble keeping up with my DVR much less trying to watch new series on Netflix or Amazon. I find myself spending a lot more time on YouTube than I used to though.

I don’t see how anyone could keep up with all of the shows out there, even just on Netflix.

They’re good quality shows, but I can only watch so many series at once or they all start blending together

Yeah, I've given up on trying to keep up with it all. My wife and I have decided to only commit to 2 shows at a time: one heavier show with episodes closer to an hour (Peaky Blinders, Better Call Saul, Fargo, etc.) and one lighter show with episodes closer to 30 min. (The Office, Parks and Rec, Kimmy Schmidt, etc.). That way we can pick which one we watch on any given night depending on the amount of time we have.

This video captures how I used to feel about trying to watch everything: LINK

Too many platforms, though.

I don't have netflix, so I've missed a lot of those (kodi let me watch some). I think I'd rather watch the Netflix shows over Amazon Prime shows, but I use Prime for shipping too much.

Yes. I had to make a spreadsheet to keep up with all the shows I want to watch.

There's no way anyone could possibly get bored nowadays.

Yet we still manage to find a way.

Yes, so much so that it actually causes delays in starting a new show. I’ll sit down and go thru the shows I’m wanting to watch, realize there are 8 or 9 and end up not picking one cause I can’t decide and because I think about how long it’s gonna take to watch all of them

Im like damn, I’ve got 240 hours of tv I need to watch

If anything, there is too much of this.

I don't watch much (i.e. any) current content but one issue that occurred to me not long ago might be more pressing than merely the question of watching it all. That is, with more content, the viewership is more fragmented, and with greater fragmentation comes less demand for any individual show, which leads to lower ratings and quicker cancellation, even for shows that aren't advert-supported.

As far as Netflix and Amazon go, I download seasons to my phone and watch at work.

I have a lot of downtime.

Just scrolling through the other day and it is up to 10 or 12 shows, just since 2015 that I need to put on the watch list based on good buzz.

Ain't nobody got time for that. Better filters is what we need, before we amp up the content production rate.
