Repressing sexual urges and forcing that out into a different venue leads to Catholic priest scandals. Humans are a sexual being. This is likely an issue of "Correlation does not equal causation." With all things in life, use moderation.

There’s a difference between jerking off in the shower because you haven’t had sex in a week, and relying on porn for sexual stimulation.

But what if you are in the shower jerking off and you find you need porn to finish the job?

That has to be one of the most cherry-picked arguments I've ever read, so I feel justified in giving a strawman reply.

So you're afraid that if you don't watch porn then you'll start raping kids? What a noble way to rationalize watching porn. It's for the public good.

Nobody said anything about "repressing sexual urges." This is about porn. And not only that, it clearly is referencing people who are in relationships. This has nothing to do with abstaining from sexual activity.

Not always, but sometimes when I am showering in the morning getting ready for work, my mind just doesn't do it for me.

That's where "Moderation" comes in. Viewing porn is not detrimental in small increments. It's when it becomes an addiction and requires you to view it in order to get off.

My wife doesn’t like porn but my girlfriend can’t get enough.

If you are unable to bust a nut without some form of porn, then you have a problem and are exactly who the article in the op is referencing.

I wonder whether these studies accounted for the impact of age. As in since most porn users are young, maybe they're just more prone to have intimacy problems to start with?

Doubtful.

Maybe. I don't necessarily deny that.

Is this a quit cold turkey thing, or are gradual draw downs effective?

He specifically said take your sexual frustration if your wife isn't putting out and use that in other areas of your life. This isn't healthy. Communication with your partner about your sexual needs is a far superior solution to this.

But he did, when he suggested taking your frustration out in other areas of life instead of addressing the root of the issue.

My main point is that Porn is not bad for you if used moderately or to enhance the sexual experience for you and your partner. When some guy is using porn as a crutch because he can't have sex with his wife, that will lead to frustration, resentment, and affairs. Communication is the issue, not porn.

I'm surprised this isn't a Huff Post article.

Definitely authored by a woman. They all scream for equality, but are threatened by the though of it. Porn drives down the power of the poosay. Their control over male orgasms is a source of strength for them. They withhold it for money, power, and security. If men are getting off at will, without them, they're just an expensive doll that makes noise and bleeds a lot.

You might die from withdrawal symptoms.

What about fapping minus porn bro? Usually the wife needs 2-3 days to recover from poundtown. Gotta tame the beast while she recovers.

Did y'all wait long enough after "her" surgery?

Oh, sorry. For a minute there I thought this was a serious thread about helping people.

Carry on.

That's not what he is saying. He is saying that if your wife isnt putting out, then you need to look inward and become someone she wants to have sex with.

Study is horse shite. There only 2 things that porn does to me while in a relation;

1. Makes me look even smaller than I like to imagin.

2. Makes me try impossible moves with what I'm packing and in turn makes sex turn into a comedy show for her.

Either way, this guy is busting a sack and it feels glorious.
